2010 Chevy Camaro and Ford Mustang. What a shame that these modern muscle cars are such a rare sight over here in Europe! Especially that Camaro works for me!

I have never driven an actual american fire truck, but I have driven a lot of others:eek: I used to work for the only company in Norway which uses only american trucks:(:( And all of them are really bad when it comes to comfort compared to europeans:confused: I dont understand why they are like european trucks from the 50`s and 60`s to drive really! I have driven Freightliners, Kenworths, GMCs , Chevrolets and Internationals and the all suck:eek: compared to Volvos, Scanias, M.A.N`s and european built Nissans:rolleyes:

Iīm back home now, we had a great time in the Big Apple! Altough I must say that the time of year and the weather could have been better, a bit cold this time of year over there.
Didnīt see any 500s yet, not even in Little Italy. ;) I did spot some Smarts and loads of Minis tho.
It seems that the forum has been really active with almost 80 new post in one week! Thatīs the way to go!!:icon_thumleft:

Great photos Ville! Would be nice to hear what's your equipment in these photos, especially lenses.
I got a new Canon S95 compact for Xmas present and I'm very pleased with it. Handy and excellent low light performance. I was thinking DSLRs also, but preferred small size over other features.
Unfortunatelly I have had only booked and cancelled holiday trips lately.

Iīm still using my first ever DSLR camera Canon 1000d body, but with Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4 macro lens. Itīs not an expencive lens costing around 400 euros, but in my opinion itīs a decent enough all-arounder. I have to admit itīs a bit tiring to carry it around all the time being so big, so that in mind a compact camera is definitely a lot nicer. Itīs just the speed of the camera and the options when taking a shot that give the DSLR the edge!
With any shot I take I always try to think what I can do with it in post-processing. Many of the photos Iīve posted are so called HDR photos, which means that they are compined of three or even more photos of the same thing or view, but exposures of the photos are different. Usually I use a program called "easyHDR" for compining the images and then do the rest of the editing with paint shop pro or photoshop.

I felt the same way so I picked up a Panasonic GF1 which is the Micro 4/3 standard, its sized like closer to a compact camera but has interchangeable lens and performance more like a DSLR. I think its a perfect size camera for traveling. Check it out some of the Panasonic and the Olympus models.

Thanks!
I think HDR is a very good technique if youīre taking a shot in challenging lighting conditions and you want to expose both dark and bright areas well! Itīs quite easy actually if you have a bracketing feature in your camera. This feature allows you to expose three or more consecutive shot differently.

Unfortunatelly easyHDR is not supported for Mac. Seems like Photomatix is a popular tool in Mac environment. Have just been too busy to even shoot photos and now I would need to find time for this also.
It's a interesting new world that HDR would open. I have heard about it earlier but Ville's pics just took the curiosity to new level. :icon_thumleft:

This is also my first HDR pic edited with freeware called HDRtist. There is no other editing done. It was a very bright light coming from the window. You can see that the wall colour is not perfect (it's white), but I'm surprised how easily you can get decent results. This was combined from 4 pics.

Now there you go!:icon_thumleft: Very nice work indeed and I really like the sharpness and the clarity of the photo! This is a very good example of a situation where you can use the advantages of HDR to your benefit, taking a photo indoors where itīs relatively dark and you have a bright light coming from a window!
