Hello guys,

I have somesort of a dilema here; an friend of mine is about to replace his -07 Grande Punto Sport. An amazing piece of machinery and he has put down quite some money modding it, but I guess he want something new.

The local Fiat dealer has a Fiat 500 Sport in Tech House Grey Metallic with some very nice specs that just arrived. Side stripes, Bonnet-roof stripes, Black leather and 15inch two-tone Sport Alloys.

It looks gorgeous, and these specs would be close to identical with the specs I would pick if I were to order a new 500 (maybe going with Black instead). And aim trying to convince him at the moment that this is the car he needs:icon_thumright:

The new Fiat Punto EVO was introduced sometime ago and the first examples is starting to show up at the dealers; the local dealer got two at the moment, one in Acid Jazz Blue and another in Crossover Black. When I saw the first pics of it I thought it looked like shit, not to my taste at all. But once I saw it live in the dealer showroom I have realized that it looks really, really nice, especially in Black.

So does my friend think and at the moment he is very keen to place an order on a EVO in Chemical Grey. Though aim not sure myself, the 500 is still better in my opinion and aim still trying to make him change his mind.

Would be nice with some other opinions, would you go for the 500 or put down an order on the new EVO?

I would definatly have gone for the 500:icon_thumleft: And the spec on the one you mention seem very good:) But then again it is always a question of what you need.... There is no doubt that the Punto is a more practical car! I also hated the new evo front when I first did see it, but it kind of has grown on me. Specially after have seen pics of the new EVO Abarth:cool:

But if I should only go for looks of the car, there is no doubt that the 500 would be my choice of the two:icon_thumright:

We're lucky enough to have both the 500 and the Grande Punto. I can say it's really hard to decide which one to take. The Grande Punto is a red one with 120 HP T-jet and one of the last with the original nose. The car is a Giugiaro-designed car that looks very good, and it is fast and sporty to drive. On the Autobahn the speedo shows 210 km/h, but then it needs a lot of gas. Down to 150 km/h it doesn't use much.
I have seen the new nose at the dealer. I don't like it. The Evo is a Giugiaro-designed car that is touched by others. There are breaks in style. The dashboard was great but isn't anymore.
My 500 is a 100 HP Sport. It needs more revs than the Punto, it has a 6 speed gearbox, and it is big fun to drive. Even on the Autobahn, where the speedo goes up to close to the 200 km/h, it is very calm on the road. I loves curves, and though it is so small it is very practical. It is so easy to lay down the back seat back to have a simple to use big cargo bay.
And it looks great. It is far from ANY CAR. You even don't think of a CAR, but of a 500.
Difficult to choose between the two. I'd say: 51:49 for the 500. But it has to be a 100 HP Sport or a Abarth, as well as a T-jet for the Punto!

Just my humble opinion.
