I have been searching on the forum and I haven't found any thread about the fuel consumption except one of the Abarth.
The proposal of this thread is that every member could post the information of the fuel consumption of its 500. It doesn't matter the engine of your cars.
I start with mine. It's a 1.3 multijet. The computer usually shows between 4,5 and 5,0 litres every 100 kms.
There was one day that showed 3,2 litres!!!!

Mine, 1,4 litre:
Everyday use, short distances, sometimes Autobahn up to maximum speed, seldom country roads: ca. 8,5 l/100 km
Holidays: most country roads, up to 120 km/h on the highway: ca. 6 l/100 km

Im doing about 14km/litre in my 1.2 Lounge, but we're mainly only doing small city runs. And I do tend to drive alittle bit fresh :D Even more when the stereo is turned up lol
Loving the small engine, fit's the car perfect.

My avg consuption is 6,2L/100km now that itīs winter and around 6,0L during summer. And I do a LOT of driving in city centre and distances covered are mostly very short. And my right foot is quite heavy!:D Engine is 1.2 petrol.

in this time

I had this average speed( including autobahn, traffic jams, city driving in Genova, Pisa, Rapallo and Monte Carlo and driving on twisty italian side roads)

I had this average consumation of petrol:

My car is a 1,2l with 69bhp:)
When entering Switzerland after driving through Germany on the way down there the speedometer said average speed of 102 or 3 km/h:eek: Went down from there toughlol

My 500 1.4 Sport has averaged 9.8l/100km over the last 2000km. The onboard computer gives a better reading, but I have kept an accurate record of all fuel purchased and actual distances covered so my figures are spot on. This car is very inefficient although it runs very well. Any suggestions as to why my car is so thirsty?:(

First of all, Hello! Care to share some information about yourself? You could do that in the new members section...
Are you using the new E10 bio-fuel? Or 95E10 as itīs called here? Itīs known to increase the consumption. For example my 1.2 gives me 6.5L/100km with the E10 when I used to get around 6.2L/100km with the regular 95E. Iīve now started to use 98E and so far the consumption is 6.1L/100km. These figures are around city center with studded winter tyres which increase the consumption a little, around 0,2-0,3L/100km.

I'm doing 5.8 L/100km, but that's me being careful... It's fairly hilly though, so it could be better in flatter area's... :)

Iīm able to do 5,8L too if I really try, but only with summer tyres. Impossible with studded tyres due to the higher rolling resistance.

Of course! We believe you! :lies: lol
I'm doing an experiment: I've reset my 'average consumption' and I'm now following the 'ecodrive' advice as much as I can. It was telling me I should change up sooner, use my brakes less, and to barely touch my accelerator. Just about the only thing I got right was my speed...
So we'll see; at the moment (after 3 days) my average is 5.3L/100km, so there is some improvement! :icon_thumleft:

Well thatīs definitely an improvement! Nicely done! I know I would have trouble doing that and not pressing the accelerator hard every now and then...

Well, I have been known to switch Ecodrive off on my wilder days so it wouldn't record my bad behaviour, but now that I'm going for the best possible average fuel consumption, my behaviour has to be at its best all the time!
However, I'm pretty sure the day will come when I will feel the need to really floor the throttle for a wee while! lol

My multijet has definetely set the consumption in 4,2 l/100. It is always between 4,1 and 4,4.

500 Twin Air. Just completed 2300miles in total. Got the clock to show 62mpg on a run...BUT average 42-45 local....55 average with good runs and very local. I tend to use the ECO setting locally. It's a little cracker though.:D

3,8 l/100 actually.
3,8 l/100 actually.
I don't think we're ever going to improve on that with a petrol engine! :icon_thumleft: After two weeks of very, very careful driving I'm still on 5.3L /100km (on hilly roads), but I'm beginning to feel the urge to let rip coming on! lol
I'll be doing a 204 mile (328km) trip in two weeks' time; I might be able to improve my mpg (l/100km) then!

Shame on you! That way a full tank of diesel will only last you a month or so! ;)

I have a lifetime consumption average of about 6.0 l/100km (dumb as I am I managed to reset the B section of the computer last week, that I had left alone to record the lifetime info). That was over 5500 km, guesstimated about half of it motorway (long and short distances), 25% A roads, and 25% city.
