Hi,
I've received an invitation for the official opening of the Luxembourg Abarth dealership on 14th of January.
It is Autopolis in Luxembourg city that have from now on also a Fiat dealership in their house. Fiat had lost quite some presence over here during the last few years and there were only two small dealerships left.
It seems that they try to catch up now.
It is a big event and even the Italian Ambassador will be present!
I have no news yet on the delivery date of my 500 Abarth apart that they have communicated the chassis number. It might be that I have to wait for one or two more weeks.

Tell them that you are a founder member (Wow) of 500fans.com, and they must give you the Abarth ASAP... or we will go to Luxembourg city and :infuriato: them, then we will call our 400 Italians friends from Cinquecentisti Club to finish them :hummerw:

(lets see if this works :icon_rolleyes: )

just kidding... lol

I just hate when they promise everything till you sign the order and then you have to wait for them.
It's not only the Fiat dealership handling things this way.
Here in Luxembourg the economy still seems to work pretty well so they can treat the customers that way.

They do this here in Greece also, but I took mine in 4 days only!
The best is go there almost every day if you can, not just to call them! ;)

That's what I'm doing but the car is just not here yet. I expected it to arrive this week as I still was on Christmas vacation. I could have made a nice run in but it didn't work out. Getting a car licensed that is on stock just takes a few hours over here but first it has to be there.:)

And when you get it, I will send you a nice set of Italian flags and Number plate decals for your new toy! :)

In Greece, it takes the Fiat mothership about fifteen days, even when the car is in the country...oh, tomorrow is nigh :infuriato:

The first time I went to Hellas the guide to the place (Aegina I think) told us about how the greek time worked. She called it GMT = Greek Maybe Timelollol

Hi:

I just got a call from my dealership today.
There seems to be no CO2 emissions problem existing yet, neither transportation cost seems to be high enough yet. There seems to be no other explication for the fact that my car although it is already build since 2 weeks, first needs to be shipped to Antwerp, general distribution centre in Belgium, about 300 km north from Luxembourg before getting shipped back 300km south to the Luxembourg dealership.
Ironically the truck driver can see the dealership while passing Luxembourg on his way up to Belgium.
Apparently this is due to the fact that Luxembourg is in the BENELUX market union and all of the business for Luxembourg is handled by Belgium, oh I like that. This is not only handled by Fiat this way but for about all brands of vehicles. So about everything coming from South first has to go North to come back South.
Sooner or later it will arrive, I'm sure about that.:(

Their latest promise is Friday now... still not out of Customs as I write...

I call them today and no mats or ESSEESSE kits as of yet! :(
99.99% you will have the ABARTH on Friday! :icon_thumright:

It appears to be so, after a million phone calls and the rather serious promise to ridicule them right across various Gruppo Fiat companies :infuriato:

Suddenly today, they found out what the clearing process was all about and had to state that they were running in the middle of the night to clear the paperwork...I even got two confirmatory calls as opposed to the "we have a lot to do" attitude of yesterday.

Nice...

Hi:

Yesterday there was the official opening of the new Fiat/Abarth dealership.
It was quite busy and hard to get there as it started during the rush hour at 18:30.
There were about 700 people that replied to the invitation.
Well, give some snacks and a drink for free, and people show up from everywhere.lol
They had about all of the actual Fiat passenger cars on exhibition, about 4 or 5 Fiat 500 and 2 Abarth's (lucky not mine).
They were too busy to take care about my never ending question of when my car arrives, so I went back today.
Latest status is that my car should probably arrive in Antwerpen on 19th of January and they promised me to keep me updated by tomorrow.
Will see....

Coming back from dinner last night, we went via Pazaropoulos in Moschato and, right enough, it was there sitting at a quiet corner next to a couple of 500s in an almost unlit secure locked area... It seems that Sport09 will give me a lift to pick it up during the course of late afternoon.

I will make my weekly pilgrim to the dealership by tomorrow morning and maybe I know something more to report after that.:icon_rolleyes:

Hi,News on my car:

The 500 arrived in Antwerp and they will pick it up on Monday.. yyesss!

Tuesday, customs papers.

Wednesday is technical inspection and licensing, actually they have the inspectors coming every Wednesday over there for the new cars that need licensing but they just check if the chassis number corresponds with the one on the paperwork.

Either Thursday but not later than Friday I should get it.biggrin2

Thats what they promised!

As I will probably from Friday on drive night and day with the 500, I will have no time anymore to see my family or to post on the forum, so, have a nice Christmas 2009 and a happy new year 2010 (in advance). lol

I might pop by in Greece on my test trip.
