It has been a long time that i wanted to remap  my ECU in order to give me the Extra power.Eventhough SS would do the job, always thought that 2500 pounds its a lot of money for what you actually ger.
To cut the story short, the only three Abarths in Cyprus (2)A500 and 1 SS have sent their ECUs to the U.K and had their ECU's remapped.
Believe me the result is unbelievable, even the SS car has noticed that.Turbo boost went over to 1.3 and the torque is amazing.
Even my friend with the SS has said that the difference is very very noticable.
The cost was only 275 pounds:) and the company who tuned the ECU's is Angel tuning that i strongly recomend.
Even when you on 4th gear on 2000 revs it blasts.
Thank you Angel tuning for making our cars real Abarths!!!!!!!!:icon_thumleft:

enjoy your cars!
are you going to have a dyno? to see the results?

Carole, is this plug and play or you have to go to the dealer to put the car on the tester with the upgraded ECU?
Maybe we, the SS owners, can send our old ECU and keep the SS one original!
Am glad you like it! :icon_thumleft:

Something I am thinking to do is to send one ECU, mine or yours, and then put one of our cars to the dyno with all 3 ECU's, 135 - 160 - 175hp and see what we've got on each one, same car, same day, same weather conditions!
Then we test the car with the Xbox again with all 3 ECU's, that will be grand! :icon_thumright:
I know that the SS ECU works only in one car (the first you put it on), I hope this is not the case on the standard Abarth ECU also, we have to find out also, if we remove the SS ECU from the car, if it needs the tester in order to work again when you put it back on after you have try another one!
PS or even better, we can do this on both cars so we know the results with and without the sport exhaust you have on your baby!

i think that we need the examiner, the one the abarth dealer has in order to change the ecus.
So we cannot do that alone.
I have the dyno of my own car ready, if someone needs it for reference.
I can give also the exact numbers of the conditions during my dyno, in order someone here to have a dyno and compare.
Finally, because I like to go to trackdays, the best setup for racing is the SS setup.
I don't think an aftermarket tuning will be competitive compared with the SS. Especially in turns :P

If we need the examiner (I call it tester on my post) then we better forget all this, am with you that the SS set up is all that you need on the Abarth :icon_thumright:
On the othrer hand, if the power is the only thing that you are after, the Carolos way is fine ;)
Do you have a dyno before and after the SS kit?

oklol,
Well you can send your old ecu ( 135 bhp) and remap it to 175.Its very easy you just need to unscrew 4 nuts and then post it to the uk.In three days you will hve it back. You can only use your own ecu onto to your car but you cannot place any other as each ecu when its installed it reads only the specific chassis no of your car.
Yes i will try to find out about a dyno to see the actual figures.
Well i am not at all against the SS upgrade but i believe the only major advantage over the upgrade i hae made is the warranty.
Brakes and suspension only if you use the car in a track. However you can buy the same or even better at much lower prices.
Lefteri that would be a nice comparison 135,160 and 175 and i believe we can make this happen, only in 500fans.com:icon_thumleft:
Lefteri could you tell me what the maximum turbo boost bar is for the SS:confused:.Mine is 1.4

So, I need to find a standard ECU to send it so I have them all 3, 135 - 160 and 175, then I will start paying! ;)
I will check the bar and let you know!

If I send them my brother's Abarth standard ECU, will be ok to put it on my car after the upgrade?
carolos
27th February 2010, 13:44
Lefteri,
You can only upgrade an ECU that was already installed on your car i.e ( you can upgrade the one you have 135 bhp or the SS one).YOU CANNOT USE AN ECU from another car.
carolos
27th February 2010, 13:47
However you can upgrade the 135 bhp ecu and change them anytime you want with the SS one!!.:icon_thumright:

sry i don't have the dyno before the ss kit...
Please see for reference the dyno at current setup.
Kit ss and Record Monza Exhaust.
Results:
165bhp with 26.06 kgm torque
You can see how incredible the SS setup is. for 2000+ rpm I have above 24kgm torque, with peak at 4000 rpm.
The ecu program is ideal for track.:icon_thumleft:

Hello
can you give some fuel consumption with 160 and 175HP?
what the "price" we pay to do the upgrade, in question of : engine reliability, max tourq rpm, et'c?
thank you

as you can see from my dyno, if you install the ss ecu and the monza exhaust you have reliable 165bhp and 26kgm torque....with guarantee
without the monza exhaust you will have less torque.
but i would suggest first to make 3000km in order for all the peripheral components (turbine, and the engine itself) to work smoothly and then you make the upgrade you want.
You will see that after 10000km the engine will give you the best it has.:icon_thumright:
about the fuel consumption, it stays the same if you are in the normal mode, and maybe in sport mode you will see a 0,5 litre difference between now and after the upgrade.
I hope this little information will help you.
