I use this compartment to hide the documentation of the 500.

Same here! My boyfriend put something in there and made a click, to which he thought he broke something. But alas, a compartment! lollol

I don't think anyone puts the manual into the tiny compartment. The documentation means the stuff that the police want to see from time to time.
At least that's what I put into it as documentation. Plus one or two USB-Sticks with hours of good music.

Since the car dont have a "normal" glove box, it is nice to have this little compartment to store registration documents, road assistance membership card etc in. Then you always knows where it is and hopefully the thief dontlol

Maybe because you can easily brake a nail trying to open it! ;)

It 's a shame that they didn't design it to be bigger as all you can get into it are a few documents
Also it took me about 2 months to find out the knack of opening it without breaking it ]

I never carry documents in the car that can identify where I live. I learnt that when my Defender was stolen.

Here it is illegal to dont bring the registration documents.... We have two parts of it: Part one is to stay home and is used if car is stolen and if beeing sold etc... Part two is to stay in the car all the time, if stopped by the police etc... Both says name , adress, social security number etc,,,

I haven't looked yet - but will in the morning. If there is a 'secret pocket' how come they don't mention it in the hand-book?
Does everyone else know about the secret storage area under the front passenger seat? The salesman at my garage didn't know it was there! I don't remember how I found out about it either!
You lift the front of the seat pad and then pull it up and out. It might be a good place to keep a GPS when you're out of the car - or supplies of chocolate perhaps.
Whilst I'm writing this, can someone remind me how I start a new topic - I've looked everywhere [except the right place!]

Lounge and pop models have this feature but not sport, I think. And if you opt for leather seats you will lose this too.
And to start a new topic, just click on the "post new thread" button on any of the sub forums! Here:

Thanks!
Do you know, I never saw that! On other forums there is a very discreet little link - this one is so bit I never saw it.
However, there is another way, you click on the dropdown ink that says 'Forum Tools' over on the right hand side in black.

In Spain all models had this storage under the seat. But now it is an option only for Lounge and Sport and it costs 30 €.

Sports have, but it depends on the Interscope subwoofer. If you have the Interscope, there is no space for any storage under the seat.
I'm not quite sure, but I think leather seats don't have this storage, too.

I'm going to check whether I have this compartment in the morning as it's now dark and I might break something lol

Over here, you just need to have your driver's lisence, proof of auto insurance and your registration.
I of course keep my lisence in my wallet. My proof of insurance and registration I keep in the glove compartment, both of which contain my address.
However, I ALWAYS completely black out my address on any documents inside the car. That way if it is ever stolen, these theives won't know where I live.
From what I have heard, doing this here is perfectly legal.
