When we ordered our 500 in April 08 the OTR price was £8,655 (although we actually paid £8,517)
Today's price ,according to the on-line configurator is £10,140 .
This is an increase of around 17%
Has anyone tried the same comparison ? and what have you found ?

I always do it. I'm always comparing. The web configurator in Spain is never updated. I compare the prices of the web with specialized motor magazines, prices of other members of the spanish Fiat 500 club, and the prices given to me at some dealers, and they never match, and they are all totally different.
The prices on the Fiat web page are always much more higher than the real ones.

Cadbury hasn't gone up in value.. she has gone down... 'used' !! Being a 'low absorption' colour might make her worth a tad more!
Think there have been four prices increases since I bought her.

According to the configurator, mine would cost somewhere in the region of £12k new - I only paid around £10k for it in June 2008! Apparently it's not depreciating too badly though......!

The price has stayed the same here, but these cars are holding their value pretty well. List price for a new 1.2 lounge is 16500 euros and asking prices for cars similar to mine (2008 model, 12000km) are around 15000 euros, so not bad at all in my opinion. Cant really say what people really are getting from their cars and how easy they are to sell.

They don't seem to hold their price very well here in Norway, could be a lot of cars with just basic spec on the market, and/or import cars but i am looking at a loss of about 80.000 NOK (10.000 Euro) for 2 years and 30.000 km when I am selling mine next year. Similar cars are going for around 160.000 NOK now, I paid 229.000 for mine.. Probably lower spec on most of them, but it doesn't account for so much when you sell them, if anyone wants to buy it that is..
I should have gone all in and gotten the Abarth the first time around..
But if my economy is up for it I AM getting that 500 Abarth esseesse next year, loss or no loss..
