Do you guys think that the dealers will be adding any mark=up to the first ones that arrive? I've seen this before. Usually on new and highly desirable vehicles.
For example, when I was shopping for my car, the dealership in my area had a 2005 Commemorative Edition SRT-4, which was White with E-blue strips.
They were tacking on an additional $5,000 USD to the over all price of the car!!!!!
So, I guess I am just worrid that the dealerships will try to do the same thing with the 500s and especially the Abarth.
What have been your experiences in the other world markets? Have any of you experienced things like this when purchacing your baby?
Thanks for the look guys and gals:icon_thumright:

When the Abarth first came on sale in Europe there was an opening edition of the car. It was the Esseesse spec with red leather plus some additional extras that I cant remember. I cant remember either wether or not this edition was more expencive than a standard car but if it was it wasnt by much!

Since then there have been numberous special edition of the car, some unbelievably expencive (around 50000 euros!!!) for what it is, a small hottish hatch.
DA0A100, 695 Tributo Ferrari and Competizione special editions:

Good found, and it is a euro spec car, so someone find the way to bring one in US and get US plates also! :icon_thumright:

That's brilliant!
I think I've seen a picture of that same one before floating around the inter-webz... it was however extremely filthy in that pciture...
This picture seems to have it much cleaner:icon_thumleft:
Wreckmaster would approve, as I think he was none too happy about the dirty little guy beforelol

Looks to be manufacturers plates, so it is a temperary registration. Unfortunately, after I think two years, for road testing and what not, they must be destroyed.:(
Same thing with when they brought the euro Fiestas to the US for the Fiesta Movement Ford was doing. All of those cars will see the crusher when the two year period is up:(

I'm guessing some dealers will tack on a "market adjustment" fee or something lame. My plan is to tell them right up front I will not pay over MSRP for a car. Ever. If they won't order one for me at MSRP where they're making plenty of money, then I will go somewhere else, even if it's out of state. Their loss.

Yeah, I hope they don't try and pull that stuff... I just have had bad experiences with low production, high demand niche cars, and dealers just assuming that "the next guy" will pay, even if I won't.
Guess I'll just use the same tactics as you guys.
I know they NEED to sell every single one of these cars they make... so, hopefully walking in and just asking for the fleet guy and ordering from him will do the trick.
That's how I ordered my 2002 Neon R/T. I just paid invoice on it... ordered it the way I wanted it, put my $500 holding deposit down on the table, and 2 months later, there was my beauty with 8 miles on itlol
