Ok, major rant warning here...

I'm fussy about my car, I think we all are.

When I clean my cars you could eat off them, they are spotless and I mean spotless everywhere. Hell, I even clean the weights on the wheels! When I had my Lotuses I'd enter them in concourses and win. I'm almost obsesses with my car being clean and in like new condition. I have no kids I have to do something on weekends :D

When I ordered my 500 I noticed the holes in the rear tailgate were set up for Euro size plates, funny that. Our plates are smaller so I ordered a set of Euro plates ($400) so they would not drill straight into the metal and they could use the plastic lugs that were already there. I told the dealer about this and said I don't want any new holes, because of rust.

When I was getting a quote to have the bumper fixed today I noticed there were a few metal filings in the back of the car. I pulled the plate off and the useless F#@!ng C^*!$ have pulled out the plastic clips and thrown them away and drilled into the metal!!!!

I know it's a very minor thing but boy it makes me mad.

(thanks for the new smilies Lefteris)

So if you have had a dealer do something stupid post it! Maybe one day Fiat will read this, fire them and make the world a better place lol

All sales people should be lined up and shot at dawn...:banghead:

You should be able to buy a car online, tick all the boxes and have it deliverd to your door :)

Sorry if anyone on here is a car salesperson but I'm sick of them.:icon501:

Thats a bit wierd the plates not being set up correctly for the cars market, it must just be a cash saving ploy by Fiat where all the RHD market cars are identical

Cjay, funny you should say that... the dealer did exactly the same with mine! There was trapped swarf behind the number plate that had rusted. Then to top things of when she recently went in to have her checks done (at a different dealership) I asked them NOT to wash my car as they have a car wash () so what did they do??? Washed her, she now has a scratched rear window. The dealer now knows NEVER to wash my car.

I think we should all take care of these cars (and any car), we all last longer with some care and attention. These are collectors cars and will hold their value. Wax on the love! :)

Exactly, the 500 is a car that is very popular, but there arnt that many around in the UK, it will hold its value for a while, as the Fiat arnt planning to increase supply as a result of the Credit Crunch, which makes these very very desirable cars, and a future classic, so if it is well looked after then It will pay back a few years down the line

Whilst browsing the web, I came across this site....

http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=4637

It describes, in their opinion, how to clean a car correctly. Gone are the days of 'Karate Kid - wipe on, wipe off' technique circular motions)... that and using a sponge actually damages the paintwork.

Makes sense.... so now Cadbury is cleaned differently to any car I have owned before.

Even wax is applied following the way the air flows over the car:)

Guys! Be glad you haven`t seen my car lately......It`s not exactly clean these days. Salty wet roads does miracles for small Italian cars:mad: And no time to wash it...... But even if it not looks like it, I really love that car and try to treat it as nice as possible.:) But in these environments its not easy to take proper care of it:infuriato:

Tell Me about it! Everytime I go out the car gets dirty. It feels like i´m spending more time washing it than driving it.
