Hi everyone,

I believe that I am the one with most Abarth kilometers on the clock and I just had my 30000 Km service done on the car.

There was nothing exceptional to do during the service as brakes and pads were still in good order and they replaced the oil, oil filter, spark plugs pollen filter.
As additional work they realigned the exhaust that was not looking totally straight at the 2 rear exits and it was touching the floor during "sporty" accelerations. They also greased the driver’s seat rails because of some strange noise while cornering to the left as well as they readjusted the trunk lid lock latch, both without any success for that cornering noise. Those works were done on warranty but the 30000 service was 410.49 Euros which I think is quite expensive. Oil was billed 112 Euros which is really the most expensive oil I ever bought considering that they insist on a change every 10000 Km with the Esseesse kit.
Now there are still some parts on order for additional work.
The passenger seat adjustment bar was rattling since I got the car and the reason was that there is a spring that should push that bar down. Unfortunately that spring should be pushing against a small pin with a small nylon roll but the pin and roll were missing leaving that spring without tension.
They had to order a complete rail system for the seat as the pin does not exist separately.
Another warranty failure, which is even worse, is that the leather stitching of the driver seat back right behind my right shoulder is opened. They will not repair it but replace the whole leather skin of the driver seat back and that is really not cheap but as it is on warranty.....
So there are for 1000 Euro+ parts on warranty order:eek: but I still enjoy driving it like the first day.

hello my friend!

i have 37000km

i had months ago the same service.
We have the same oil price and my cost totally was around 350 to 370 euros...I also bought the SS brake pads and paid another 150 euros.
In this price, they changed also the rear brake pads...

I think your guys there are expensive.

About my leather seats, the driver's, i have some damage but the thing is that has not opened, so i cannot fix it as warranty.

Enjoy your car and make sure (if you can financially) to change oil every 10000km.

Greetings!

Hi,

Well, I change the oil every 10000 km although I believe that this is a total rip off. The engine is not suffering that much more due to the SS kit and I believe that they like to celebrate some kind of race atmosphere by asking people to bring the car in for service every 10000km.

On my BMW 330d the oil change is at 45000 Km which is really the other extreme and on my Carrera 4 it is at 20000 Km.
On the bill I see 2 units of oil for 56 Euros each which I suppose should be 2 cans of 2 liters Selenia Abarth oil in an engine with a capacity of 2.90 liters with filter change?
So I believe that at each oil change they have more than 1 liter left "to be scrapped"???;)
Even if they fill 4 liters it would be 28 Euros per liter of oil without VAT.
What do they fill in those Selenia cans, is it hand selected and hand pressed Olive oil??

It is for sure not a financial problem but I don't like the feeling to be ripped off and I guess that I will start servicing my car by myself the day when warranty is off.
Concerning the seat I don't know what you can do to convince your dealer to replace the worn parts, I just know that open stitches result at least in my case in a replacement.....
I guess that my dealer will have to explain things to me by tomorrow morning.

Here, when you change the oil, they give you the 1 litre, because you have payed for it.

So when you have 3 oil changes, the 4th one is free lol

It is expensive oil, and totally aggree with you that we can find a cheaper solution to a mechanic that we trust.

For me, because i go to trackdays, i dont think about the 100 euro cost of the oil. It is necessary for me to change it, just to be sure.
Sometimes i check them and changed them after 2-3 trackdays.

Apart from all that, we have a brilliant car that doesn't consume its oil.
and we enjoyed it very much

Hi,

I checked on E-Bay and the Selenia Abarth oil can be bought for 19.95 Euro per liter which is much less than the 28 Euro without VAT at the dealership.

Ok, someone cannot expect the same price at the dealership than on E-Bay you might think but in this case there is no reason for such a big difference.
The oil doesn't turn bad if you store it for a while and the dealer already charges more than 130 Euros for the work so why should he pull an additional 30 Euros profit out of the filled oil and another 28 for a not filled but billed liter of that stuff.
I think that I'll order 8 Liters on E-Bay as that is the max quantity for the shipping charge of 15 Euros to my country.
Anyway I believe that my car will get its service done by myself once the warranty is off.

Concerning the before mentioned 4liters of oil for an engine that only takes 2.9 liters, I had a more than clarifying discussion with them which ended up to be quite embarrassing for them.

I think they are riping you off, for sure, Minime911. Ask them for the rest of the oil. You have paid it and they have to give it to you.

It could be possible that they say in the invoice that they have used 2 bottles of 2 liters, but the reality is that they use oil taken from a barrel, which is much more cheaper for the dealer service.

When I went 2 months ago to my service to change the oil of my 500 Lounge multijet, they used Selenia oil of a big barrel I saw they have in the garage.

Do you really have to use Selenia oil? Here you cant even buy it! I belive Fiat dealers here use Castrol oil! Not that I belive castrol is much cheaper tough :(
