I have had two new MINI Coopers, they were total RUBBISH, the worst built cars I have ever owned. I would never buy another MINI and tell everyone I know NOT to buy one:mad:

This is interesting information and I have heard this before. Could You cjay be more precise what was wrong with them?

Mmmmm how long have you got??
Gearboxes failing
Steering column breaking
Airbag warning problems
Dash rattles that would send you deaf
Serious paint problems, my red one was also delivered with finger prints in the paint
Electronic problems, lock the car and walk away and later the windows would wind down and sunroofs open!
Leather falling apart
power steering failures
They rust around to door sills after 6 months
It went on and on, I loved the car but was so glad to see it go.
The build quality in the 500 is fantastic compared to a MINI

Iīm surprised, after all it is BMW product and you could expect high quality. Especially when it is such an expencive car compared to 500. Did You have all of those problems mentioned above or are these just common problems in Mini?

I had all those problems and they were in many MINI's, mostly the early build cars after aprox 2005 they improved.
Lots of people expected BMW quality for the premium price, but they never got it

Well that is just sad! And here I was thinking that my (long since gone) Seat Ibiza was lausy car with itīs faults. I stand corrected, I wouldnīt have Mini then. I just hate unreliable cars, and for the past nine months my 500 has functioned perfectly.

That is correct, a mini S cost almost 2 times the Abarth price here (with a few extras) and IMO it is not a better car!

Lefteris, I am intrigued, what do you do for a living??? lol
If I was going to have another car and I had the money it would be a Jaguar XJ220, and before you all say anything I know this is now an old car but still outstandingly beautiful.

Subaru WRX Wagon or a Nissan Juke 1.6T but you can't get AWD and 6speed manual only the CVT, so probably the WRX.
