After the recent cold spell we had here with temps at 15-17 below zero I came down to my garage a couple of days ago and it shows +10 when in reality the garage temp shoukd be right above zero. It still drops to 8 and 7 plus, but actual outside temp is -1 or -2....

Been like that for a couple of days now.. strange..

Anyone know where the sensor is?

Probably have to take the car to my dealer sp they can check it.

I tried unhooking the battery for 10 minutes but it didn't help

Anyone know where the sensor is?

The sensor is in the right side mirror.

The sensor is in the right side mirror.

Really?? But they are heated. Won't that affect the sensor?

Calling my dealer tomorrow to have it checked out

When I drove the 500 out of the garage at work it showed 22C:cool: And it stayed like that for all the way home, even tough it was -6 outside:eek: Next time I started the car, it was normal again:icon_thumleft:

I have now lived with the problem for a while and noticed that the temp shows about 8 degrees above what the real temp is. Today it showed 9 and 10 and it is between 1 and 2 degrees outside. But if I turn on the heated rear window and mirrors (where the sensor is) the temp drops and shows the correct number instantly. The bad thing is it only lasts for a few minutes, and then it's back up to 9 or 10 degrees..

Also the light in the left two dials on the temperature adjustment bit in the center console has gone. For a while i could give it a knock or two and it would come back on, but now it's dead. Probably a loose connector or blown bulb

Booked it in at the Fiat garage next Thursday. I hope they'll find the fault.

I hope this will be sorted at the "spa"!:)

Looking forward to read about how they solved the problems.

Went to dealer today. They spent about 3,5 hrs and didn't manage to correct the fault. They said I had to come back as they had to keep the car for a full day. So it will be going back soon.

AFAIK they checked and updated computers on the car to no avail.

Glad I brought a book as I thought it would be in for max an hour...

Finally got my temperature right. It was a break in a cable going to the outside temp sensor.

They kept the car for a whole day so it sure took it's time :)

All is well with my car again.
