Hi,

Last Friday I bought the Record Monza exhaust for my Abarth and I installed it immediately.
It fits perfectly and the Sound is excellent.
It's probably not the loudest possible you can buy but it has a much deeper sound at low and mid range RPM and I believe it's the best sound you can have legally.
Also it doesn’t make it impossible to drive higher distances at high speed with risk of catching a headache.
Actually it comes with a certificate of conformity and it's totally legal.
Although I was never believing that the exhaust could have a noticeable influence on the power development without any further adaptation to the EMS and hardware, I must say that the car drives totally different and I suppose that the variable exhaust valve reduces the exhaust backpressure instantly which allows a faster raise of the turbo speed and a more spontaneous power increase combined with a very nice sound.:icon_thumleft:

So, yes I'm really happy with it and it's a must have.
Although the official sales price is at more than 1100 Euro, our local dealer offers it for 999.
I bought my exhaust at a German dealer about 70 away from Luxembourg for 830 Euro new in box.
According to him there are not enough German customers willing to buy that part and he prefers to sell them without profit as they have an imposed quota of parts to get rid of.

Someone wrote in another forum that the horsepower increase with the Record Monza exhaust on an Abarth is 12 bhp. That seems a bit high. Minime911, do you have any idea what the hp increase is?

Hi,

12 Hp is wishful thinking.lol

Officially they talk about 5 HP average power increase and 1.5kgm torque increase as well as a faster turbo charger response due to an optimized torque and power curve in mid RPM range starting at about 2000 RPM where the exhaust bypass valve becomes active.

These are quite good numbers considering that most often tuning exhausts are not offering any power increase when not even power loss and just plenty of noise.

5 hp sounds more like it. When I put a cat-back performance exhaust on my '94 Miata, I gained about 5 hp.

Hi,

They might still have some left if you want one.
Ok, the distance is a little more than 70 Km from Greece but for the fun of driving the car....lol

the increase would be 5hp as you say...

but for the 12hp, they mean that you get earlier more horsepower than before.

Example : That means that if you had 118 hp at 3000rpm, you have now 130hp at the same rpm.

Before and after the peak of hp will be the same. So the exhaust increases the power in the middle rpms, which is very good in the track

check my dyno calculation and i hope i explained it :)

Hi,

It's about that what it feels like.
Better response in mid range.:icon_thumright:

In North America, Mopar has joined with Magneti Marelli for additional parts supplies so Magneti Marelli SS-100 dual range catbacks might be optional on abarth and other 500 models at less cost than Monza Record. :icon_thumleft:

The Magneti Marelli catback model should have read SS-500X. Apology for the typo.
