Hi,
As said I had a meeting this afternoon till 17:00, man, people can keep you busy especially when you have to leave, rushed home to leave my old car and had to wait for my wife (who was stuck in the traffic) to pick up the new one.
We arrived at the dealership 20 minutes before closing time but as they start tomorrow for the next whole week the so called yearly car festival where all dealerships stay open, even on weekends, they were still busy preparing the showroom.
To make it shorter than my usual mails, YESSSS I have it and it looks great.
Spotless paint and really nice interior, which I know, needs a weekly cleaning with leather care if I sit with blue jeans on it;)
The pictures were taken at the dealership inside with a flash, so they might not be the best quality but as it was already night while arriving home, I will try to make better shots tomorrow during the day.
Apparently there will be sunshine....
P.S. My son likes it a lot and my wife would drive it if it was an automatic....
Lucky me...biggrin2
Greetings:A now happy me, minime911 lol

Hi Carolos,
I'll take pictures of the rear seat but there is a good reason why there are none on the web or in the catalogue.
The rear seat of the Abarth is not in red colour but in black, also when the front seats are in red.
This gives the impression that it is a 2 seater when you see it from outside as the rear windows are also tinted.biggrin2
Not stupid these Italians it's first class eye tuning.lol
I drove about 100 km today and I like it even more every kilometer.
Will post pictures tonight...

Hi,
The pictures are now in the album.
There was no sunshine today but at least it wasn't raining, so better pictures will follow.;)
I was back at the dealership today as the left the blue and me commands in Italian. The reprogramming to English only took a few minutes.:icon_thumright:
I just synchronized my phone via Bluetooth and oh wonder it worked at the first attempt.

Isn't silly that a simple thing as reprogramming to English isn't carried out at the PDI !
Looks great :icon_thumleft:

I love the cover too !* Can you buy them?Hi,
You can buy that cover but it is quite expensive for 600 Euro.
See here:http://www.fiatshop.com/shop/catalog/abarth-fahrzeugabdeckung-p-801011115.html?osCsid=906e135d94757c27757ae4dcc492 7306
Apparently it is of quite cheap quality, it's what someone wrote.
Probably it is tailored too tight to the car to give a neath fit.
I asked if the one from the delivery is a present but they said that they need it.:(
I'll get a set of carpets for free, if they get them one day...:399:

Apart that the Italian language is very charming, it is not spoken a lot outside of Italy and some local pizzerias.
It might be good to have the base European languages in the system with some easy menu selection, nowadays where memory is nearly for free.:(
No??

I should really wish they had a scandinavian language for b&m... So I could have full use of the text reading system. Because the lady who works for B&M in my car are really lousy in Norwegian..lol.Got problems with my voice commands also, even if I try to say the commands in English.
Any scandinavian language would do fine(exept finsih, which is for VilleV only:) ), but offcourse Norwegian would be the best:icon_thumleft:

By the way your Macchina looks super:super: What language do you speak in Luxembourg? French, German, Dutch?

The B&M 'Doris' doesn't understand me half the time ! She doesn't like the window open or the aircon on !
Isn't there something to do with 'languages' on under the Menu on the car?
If you want me to pose questions to UK dealers.... feel free to ask, not a problem

Minimee911, what service book did you get? it seems that the Abarth-branded ones are rather scarce; I am trying to locate at least one each for Lefteris, Sport09 and myself.
We are researching the matter of leather trim down here and hopefully we'll end with more than one different permutation for future reference ;)
Now, I must say again that Grigio Campovolo looks stunning :D
Hi,
I think the service booklet is not a big problem over here and I think they can provide also in English but I would have to check this with the sales girl.
I got 2 booklets as cars sold over here are for the BENELUX market.
They typically come with Dutch and French user manual.
This is due to the fact that in Belgium they have 2 major languages and even a 3rd one which is German.
Well, the 2 major ones have a language war since ages and the Flemish part as well as the French part is strictly refusing to speak or even understand the other ones language.
This is considered to be one country.
I can ask my dealer if they can get manuals in English if you want...
For the colour, yes I think it is looking good but the Abarth looks good in all of it's available colours.:icon_thumleft:
For me, I decided for the grey one because you can get any other car in white, black or red, but only the Abarth in that grey colour.
With this option it makes it quite unique.
Besides this I already have a white Porsche, a black Mini and a black BMW.
So, let me know about the booklets.
I can't promise anything but at least I can try.
There might also be other Languages available over here as in Luxembourg there is quite an international clientele due tho the European community offices.

Hi,
In Luxembourg we speak Luxembourgish, yes; it is a language of its own.
The official governmental language is French and also German.
At school we start with German and Luxembourgish, then French in the second school year and starting the 7th or 8th class with English.
As the country is so small we have to know the language of the neighbours otherwise you wouldn't get anything to eat or to buy as the personnel of the shops and restaurants are most often from outside Luxembourg.

Thanks Minime911; the one I am trying to source is the red-on-white Abarth service book that carries the warranty stamp, as opposed to the standard fare green one that Fiat issues for all models. We are ok with the rest of the literature.
Many thanks in advance.
Ah yes, original floor mats would be nice as well...;)
I think the service booklet is a standard green Fiat one with my car too.
Floor mats I belive are an "urban legend" and not existing as well as the SS kit.
I will only start to believe in them when I see it.lol

Hi,
Please let me take the opportunity to thank everyone on this forum for their wishes and congratulations on my new 500.
I think this is really a great place where people from all around the world can meet and discuss not only about their new Fiat 500 but also about other passions, hobbies and even private items.
I think this makes this forum quite unique and other car brand or model forums are more boring as they are totally focused on that specific vehicle and nothing else.
So it must be the people that make this difference, I mean the people that like the non standardized uniform and boring car models, sorry if I hurt someone by naming VW Polo and Golf, all kind of Japanese and Korean boxes where I even can't spell the name, and soon to come low cost Chinese copies of cheap Korean copies of boring European cars.
These people like the excellent and tasteful styling as well as the courage that Fiat have proven to build again something that was believed not to be possible anymore in this time of uniform boredom.
These people also accept that the lack of support and the way of dealing with problems is handled by Fiat in a nearly perfect disorganization.
Probably the typical customers for these cars are sensitive enough for this nostalgic feeling of imperfection and therefore it only works for the 500 and not for the rest of the Fiat model range.
What would we write about over here if there wasn't a delivery delay that no one and for sure not the dealer can explain, if there weren't wrong pistons installed or booklets missing and carpets as other accessories unavailable?
Probably it would be as on any Toyota forum: "My Corolla has now 150000Km, what kind of problems can I expect?....No answer or someone replies that his remote control battery was empty after 5 years or so.lol
So, If people like perfection, they better buy something else but not a 500.
By the way, I have been to the local Porsche dealership on Saturday morning as I made my first test drive.
We have this week the so called Car Festival over here where all dealerships stay open all week, even on Sunday and the make special offers, like buy a new Suzuki and get a Philips LCD for free, or buy a new Mercedes and get nothing at all.;)
Well, at the Porsche dealership there were more people standing outside on the parking around my new Abarth than in their showroom with the Porsche's.
Actually after a few minutes I was the only one left in the showroom as the 2 sales men were pressing their nose against the showroom window to see what people were looking at outside.lol
A 500 is not a competitor to Porsche 911 but it shows that a car doesn't need to be excessively expensive to have success and to please.
Would be a great idea if Fiat would reissue a retro style Multipla based on their initial design of the 60’s and on the actual Multipla platform.
Competitors would be VW Touran, Opel Zafira and so on.
I’m sure it would become a success.:icon_thumleft:
