My car had a proxy alignment to fix the flashing milage a while back...Since then it has been fine, until today when it started to flash again:(
Another trip to the dealer I guess, but I think I`ll wait to they have a garage again..........

I was given to understand that the proxy alignment had to be carried out sooner rather than later, to avoid further issues. But you have the problem of where to get it carried out:eek:

I am not sure what the flashing means really.....I think it wont be a problem to wait some weeks, to see what happends on the garage situation.
Latest is that my dealer maybe looses the franchise for FIAT....But the new import company says that within 2009 there should be 80 dealers in Norway and that within three years FIAT shall become one of the ten largest brands in Norway...So I guess maybe there is something positive coming out of this boring situation:icon_thumleft: Time will show:p

My colon flashes and today, so did the mileage. Although it didn't after I restarted the engine. Any ideas ?

The colon is supposed to flash, the mileage isnt. Again the flashing mileage is a common "problem" with the 500 and even more so with the Grande Punto and I think it is related to the canbus and onboard computers clocks not being in sync. Only known fix is to take it to your dealer and they will make a proxy alignment, altough even this doesnt cure the the fault as it often occurs right after the allignment has been done.

To avoid the situation where the mileage starts to flash people do a certain routine when turning the car on; first turn the key to "mar", wait for all the lights to go out and fuel bumb to prime, and then turn the key to ignition. For the most of the time this works and keeps tha fault away but not always. Turning the car of and then on again seems to remove when it does occure.
