My area has had a rough week with the snow, but Cadbury really did me proud biggrin2 I have managed to get to work every day and spent the day wondering if I will be able to get home. You see, I have to negotiate an extremely steep bendy hill to get out/in to my village... always icy:drive1:... and she coped brilliantly. Only time I used the grit and shovel I carry.... was helping otherlol
After the snow that came down today (5 inches).... anyone know where to get a set of chains ??

I have seen some great snow pics from up there!
Our weather has been crazy down here, in the South it hit 47.9C and they had fire storms with 100k/h winds and in the North there are huge floods!
Lucky for me I'm in the middle of the country where its pleasant 31C :icon_thumleft:

Worst weather for 18 years.... but I love itbiggrin2
Sledging, snowmen (and women these days:eek:) snowball fights, mulled wine and hot chocolate biggrin2 But these are the type of winters I remember from yesteryear.... when it went on for weeks.
Winter tyres... what are they ? Only, USUALLY, need one set

It probably will. My mum was borrowing it as the Volvo was too big for parking down where it happened, apparently she went a bit mad lol

Iīm reading from local papers here that you britons have ran out of road salt and are using table salt instead to keep roads from icing! It says that the situation is worst around Bristol, and that these weather conditions will continue well into next week!

The same is true in Coventry as well, its fairly typical of out government to be honest. Its like when we have a heat wave all their water preservation plans fail.

Extreme weather conditions come as a surprise to them every time then? Maybe they are used to the idea, that the weather in Britain is pretty much the same all year round...

They just never prepare for these things, it likes the floods that hit my town a few years ago, the defences and the contingency plans were literally wiped out. Its a bit embarrassing London being ground to a halt over some snow, i bet most other EU capitals wont have the same problem

You have to see Greeks on snow... lol
Well a couple of years ago I did see on the news that it was snowing in Athens and the highway between Athens and Thessaloniki was closed because of a couple of cm of snowlollol.
And they told me when I was on Samos some years ago that the last winters they couldnt drive across the small mountains between Pythagorio and Karlovasi....Well those mountains aint to tall... But I agree that the roads are a bit bad on Samos:icon_thumleft:

lolYou most definitely need a set of winter tyres! I think there would be no problem at all to get moving in that snow with winter tyres! A great video by the way, Thanks!

I was there in 2006 and that time they were making new roads from Pythagorion toward Karlovasi. Dont know if they are ready yet though. But what a beautiful island Samos really is!!!
Edit: If you think that roads on Samos were bad, you should go to Karpathos...

You might want to park your 500`s the next few days if you dont have winter tyres.... It is crazy to drive in such conditions with summer tyres....
