Cheap cars?

I don't know what the rest of the world is like but cars here are just about being given away!

I have this secret love for MX 5's I have had a few:cool: I just saw one on line less than a year old that is $20,000 cheaper than a new one!!! They are $50,000 for the top of the range new here :eek: and this one is like new for less than $30K!

I just read they have run out of room on the docks here and have nowhere to store cars so they are leaving them on the boats!

Is it like this in the rest of the world?

I wish it was like that here too! They are expencive as hell over here (luckily though not as expencive as in Norway)! And this depression is doing nothing to the prices...

Nop, not here, a car that cost 50.000 new, it will cost about 40.000 after one year!

Except for the prices it is like this in NOrway too...Docks ain`t big enough so they have rented new docks and even rented ro-ro vessels to store the new cars. Because the dealers and import companys ordered a lot of cars and then the financial crisis hit them...... But no way we are getting the cars any cheaper, because the most of the price we pay are taxes to the norwegian government:mad::mad: And the dealers can`t affors to cut off on theire already low prices. On a new car lets say 250 000 nok the dealer make less than 10 000 kr( ca 1000eur)....... They live on the after market/ service thing:eek:

For me, it was a toss up between a used MX5 or a new 500... as you can gather ... no contest biggrin2

It is a cut throat market in the UK at the moment, great deals to be had, especially if you are a cash buyer. The other day they were doing 'BOGOF' (Buy One Get One Free), yes, buy one get one free... if you bought a top of the range Merc (or similar) they were giving away a 'city' (small car) free.

Unfortunately, the only car there were no deals on were, you guessed it, the adorable 500 :( Mind you, the dealer did throw in chrome mirrors (£70) and dark tinted windows (£180), so I didn't do too bad;)

That would be a nice deallollol So if you sell the small car then you get a really cheap upper end class car:cool::cool:
