I've taken the plunge, found a supplier fairly local to me who can supply a set of 30mm lower Apex springs for my suspension for £73.75 delivered.

That's stupidly cheap.:icon_thumright:

Sorry, how very rude of me.

Bought them over the phone (but they also do online) from Car performance UK (http://www.carperformanceuk.co.uk/bmy_search.php?brand=FIAT&model=500)

Being delivered direct from Apex.

It will cost a massive £20.26 per year extra, that's springs & strut brace.:icon_thumright:

Cool, I was wondering if I was the only one thinking of lowering my 500. I was looking at the Eibach ones but they cost a lot more.

I look forward to seeing and hearing how the Apex ones go :)

The thing that made me go for the Apex insread if the Eibach springs is the fact that they do a kit for each engine of the 500 range.

Part no's are.......

1.2 - 30-5220
1.3 - 30-5210
1.4 - 30-5200

This gives me degree of confidence that Apex have spent some time considering the different kerb weights of the car.

I also considered KW springs, but I'd read reports that both on 500's & Pandas they are quite 'crashy'.

What is a strut brace?

Your car will look smashing with those lowering springs. Cant wait for before and after photos... Do you have the 16" wheels too?

Lower strut brace is bar that links the left & right hand side lower wishbone pickups, thus keeping the front end rigid.

Yes I have 16" wheels.

Yes. Used to build F1 cars so this is a breeze.

I got mine from 'Nuova 500' online and free delivery. They were Eibach, can't remember what I paid as I bought the springs, a gear knob, a little white 500 phone charm and a bag all for £145.00. Lowering is VERY easy. Definitely made a difference to the handling, much better although still a little soft at the back end with original shocks. Very pleased.

Try these people: http://www.nuova500shop.com/shopping.aspx?npp=12&cp=1&cat=1&showall=

They do lots for the 500's, I want an induction kit, chip, shocks etc, etc, etc biggrin2

Im tempted by the induction kit :-D

They do the CUP Kit!!!!!! But I think 6,000 is a bit steep, its 2/3rd of the cars value lol

Will do. But I'm afraid you guys are going to have to wait a little longer, they are no going to be with me until late next week now, a delay in Apex sending them to the shop I bought them from.

The "drop" makes the 500 also more fun to drive, better cornerings,
centralizes the weight + also looks good:

I lowered Bambina within a month of getting her! They are definitely very 'bouncy' little cars. I felt more confident about throwing her round the corners when I had changed the springs. :drive1:

I also installed springs to my Bravo. Think it was the first mod I did
"for her" ;)

I've just noticed you are in Wiltshire, I'm surprised I have not seen you bombing around as I travel to & from Wiltshire every day.....

As soon as I drove from my Fiat garage's yard I knew it was right to change the springs.
I went to my car, opened the door, and it was better: The door handle was lower. I sat down in the car, and it was better: 3 cms lower - 3cms that you really feel! The cars agility is a little better, I feel safe in any corner, I still can use the car as before - no restrictions on any bumpy road.
And it sure looks such a lot better than before!

My springs are a Eibach Pro-Kit, that costs about 160 €. They were built in by my local Fiat dealer, and this included a readjustment for the chassis.

Thanks!
It was called Calypso Orange in Germany. It is one of the rarest colours, and it looks less cute than most of the other colours. That's what I like, I don't want a cute car. ;)

hi guys first post on here, im just wondering if the apex springs stop the car being so bouncy as i've read that the eibach springs pretty much cure it and come with new front bump stops, thanks
