Not available to tailor a 500 in Norway

I just got off the phone with the dealer in Bergen, Norway and he had some disappointing news for me. Due to a new company taking over imports of Fiat to Norway it was no longer possible to order a new 500 to your own specs. For instance I could not get a 1.2 Sport in Pasodoble Red, I had to get a lounge if I wanted the 1,2 in Red.

The dealer said that he was very disappointed with the importer. He recommended me to contact an import dealer and get the car imported from Sweden.. I told him to check again and give me the available options..

I am so shocked and disappointed right now I don't know what to do...

Posted you a pm cyberdog. I was afraid it was gonna become like you describe when they changed from auto import nor to RSA. I hope it turns out to the best for you and that you will get yourself a 500.

Looks like getting the 500 in Norway will only give you a couple of choces regarding Sport/Lounge. As an example, you can not get a 1.2 Sport, only a 1.2 Lounge. For a sport it will have to be 1.4.. Didn't check the diesel options since I'm not interested in those..

The car will according to my dealer loose almost all of it's customizeability.

I have been given an OK offer on a 1.2 Sport in black with black leather, 15" alloys on both winter and summer tyres, chrome mirrors and the sidemouldings with 500 logo.

Blue & Me, Manual AirCon etc is standard on the car.

We are discussing going for this car and giving up on the red colour

Will have to ordre chrome fenders, and the racy aluminum pedals afterwards along with 17" alloys for my summer tyres :)

I have a friend that works with car stickers and will have to get him to design some nice decals to liven it up a bit..

On the plus side, I should have a new car in 2-3 weeks if all goes to plan :)

In my opinion black is a great colour, but it really needs the chrome pits to shine! I saw a black lounge with red leather interior last summer and it was stunning! But on the other hand I´ve also seen some pics of a black sport with red side stripes and it looked very sporty. And a sport model would definitely benefit from some racey after market alloys, for example OZ Ultra leggeras! So even with your limited options there is still some room to play. But thinking, that if you have to post order the chrome pits you wont get the chrome lists below side windows and there for the chrome pack is not complete, I myself would propably go for the sportier look.

Do you still get the pop version in Norway? If you do why not go for that? At least the seats in pop are very cool! We don´t get pop here at all, and 1.2 lounge is the base model. Sport is only available in mjet or 1.4.

I have always overlooked black 500s ( maybe because our other car is black)

It's been a hectic week :) and the saga continues..

This morning I was told that the black 1,2 Sport was sold before my dealer could get his hands on it..

But I have managed to source a 1.2 Sport in Red with sunroof and black leather. Getting 15" alloys number 238, chrome kit, chrome mirrors, aluminum pedals, leather gearnob, and the painted sidetrim with logo and winter tyres on 15" unoriginal alloys

I am going to sign the contract for it this afternoon. This might be one of the last 1.2 Sports in Norway except the ones already with dealers :)

Hope nothing happens befor pen hits paper later today...

Which ones are the "alloys number 238"? And do you know allready what kind of aftermarket alloys you will be getting?

17"!! That´s going to give you a rather hard driving experience, I would suspect! There´s big difference even between 15" and 16" wheels in how hard the drive gets, so if you want to have some comfort the 17"s are quite large! But then again, I bet they will look great! Any idea when you can get the car? We demand pictures asap you know!lol

Yep the 15" original alloys will be fitted with the winter tyres

I am afraid there is a very big difference between the 15" and the 16" when it comes to roadnoise and comfort... But your 17" sure looks great:icon_thumleft: Lets hope the difference between 16" and 17" ain`t too bad. You might want to hold on to those unorignal alloys for a while until you have tryed both the 15"`s and the 17"`s.

I bet you are getting anxious to get your car now!!! But it is worth the wait!!!!

I spoke to my dealer today and he told me that it was absolutely possible to tailor a 500 still. But the dealer had to pay in advance for it and that the wait was a littlebit longer..... They were about to order a yellow 500 which was not in the Norwegian importers "availeble" list. So it is still possible if you go to the right dealer:icon_thumleft:
