Feel free to come and do my gardening;)

I bought an 'F' reg plate last October... my surname F4 ROW.

F14 TTT was for sale last time I looked for about £700.

Not to worry... wont be long before you have a 500 to polish:)

Why not. I think british plates that have been personalised can be funny and/or cool. But is it worth that kind of money I´m not sure.
Here it costs 1000e to customise a plate and still you have to stick with certain amount of letters and numbers. I´ve seen a 500 with a plate that said NEW-500, and it would be possible to get MY-500, FIA-500 or similar, but you´d have to have at least two letters and one number and maximum of three both. And that plate would stay with the car even if you sold it, so not really worth it in my opinion.

Hi,

Of course you must fit personalised plates if you like your car and if you have the possibility to get them.

On my 500 I have my son's initials and his birthday.
On all of my other cars I have also personalised numbers but compared to the UK it's quite cheap to have them over here in Luxembourg.
You just have to pay 100 Euro for the first time if a number is free.
If you transfer it to another car later it costs 50 Euro.
The price is the same for any number you specialy ask for and you cannot sell it. If you don't need it anymore and if you don't transfer it to another car or to anybody else, it will go back to the pool.

Numbers are either 4 or 5 digit or 2 letters with 4 digits.
The 2 and 3 digit numbers were withdrawn from circulation so the smallest you can have are 4 digit but for the moment there is a 2 year wating list.

Peronally I don't think the lowend price on personised number plates is too bad over here. I found half a dozen plates with "_500 BRM" (the later part being my initials) for £245 from the DVLA site. With a little bit of extra work, I found them for £185 from an approved DVLA partner site.
The price is not that much more than any of the other 'extra' decoration that I added to my 500 when I ordered it.

I was only joking biggrin2 prices here aren't that bad, I found it cheaper to go directly to DVLA first as their prices include the transfer fee and VAT etc.

The DVLA approved partners also include the same fees, and their prices are normally exactly the same as the DVLA ones. It was a couple of months back when I last looked, and one of the sites was having a sale on :)

Cadbury was cold before she snuggled up in a warm garage... and it was a few months back. We are now expecting ten days of good weather ... just in time for my week off work !
