View Full Version : Cyberdog's D-Day 20th of March 09

My D-Day started with 8 looong hours at work before the time came to pick up my significant other and head to dealer Motorforum Bergen. As we arrived it stood gleaming in the showroom. We signed all the papers and was offered a complimentary key cover :) It even turned out the car was given a full Tectyl rust treatment by the dealer they got it from :) It really helps on our salted winter roads, and is fairly expensive.. :yahoo:

When asked if I needed instructions for the Blue&Me system I laughed and said I had read the manual cover to cover weeks ago.. The sales guy seemed to be very happy having a enthusiast buyer and made me promise to come back and show the car when my 17" wheels arrive medio April.

Took a few pictures (way too few, more coming later today) and headed out into the sun, in my new red bambina with 6 km on the dial.. Got 1 km when the phone rang and it was my dealer asking if I had forgot something. Seems I left my jacket in his office ( I was giddy.... :) )

Drove around all afternoon, visited a few friends to show them my new baby and then went home to update my iPhone software from 2.1 to 2.2 because it was giving me a hard time pairing with Blue&Me. :frustrated:

This morning it was 2 below Zero and a nice voice told me that there was possible ice on road :) A bit annoying with the cold weather as the roads are salted, so that showroom shine won't last...

Lookin really good!!! Congratulations once again! Besides the 17" wheels are you going to personalise your car some how? Maybe with chrome mirrors or some badges or stripes?

:thanks2:

I will probably get the chrome mirrors, but I believe the car stays plain red. If I get any ideas it will not be original 500 decals. I have a friend in the car decorating business. (He just made a Porsche 911 Matte Black for a customer. It looked badass :) ) He is also a very good artist so he will be the one designing something for my car if I choose.

Great pics and they really take me back a year to the day I picked up my 500! What a great day!

IŽve spotted one interesting detail in your car; I always though that if you get the factory fitted chrome kit youŽll get lounge version a- and b-pillar plastics! But I see that yours have a mat finish so they are like any other sport, as where all lounges have a shiny plastics on a- and b-billars.

Like so:

Where did you order this stuff? I am thinking about getting an wash mitt but cant seem to find them anywhere? Beeing in this forum has learned me a thing or two about washing that I did not know..... So I guess I will be trying the two bucket method and a wash mitt. But since I cant find it for sale anywhere I will have to use the sponge until I find one.....

Another stunning edition to our 500 family :) And the weather was kind to you too. Reading through your shopping list... you haven't mentioned a wheel brush, they need cleaning too;)

Looks lovely ... Shelley

I know, but I found a store that stocks all the good stuff across from my work, so I'll pick some stuff up from there as well. We even got garage prices as a discount :)

Meguiars professional degreaser
Meguiars professional glass shine
Meguiars professional Interior cleaning
and a wheel brush :)

Sounds fun! I can't wait to wash my 500. The surface area will be much smaller compared to my current car.
