I had a look on the Fiat Configurator at the new 500C. I don't think it is value for money and I certainly wouldn't pay over £12,000 just to have a soft top.

Also, I think I would struggle to find a colour I like. Lets hope the next generation of colours are warmer, richer colours. Rich plum colour would be great !

Nearly forgot.... hi Crazy :xyxwave:

What I want to see is some of the US Crysler markert to come over here, like the Dodge Charger. We have the Viper (for some reason called the SRT-10 due to some other car maker copywriting viper over here) but nobody knows where to get it, all the crystler dealerships seem to sell is jeeps and that huge MPV voyager thing, and a couple of rebodyed Vauxhalls/Opels under the name of dodge. Oh and this thing (I dont know what its ment to be)

http://img.blogcu.com/uploads/sametpak_2007-Dodge-Nitro.jpg
The only crysler in the UK market is the crossfire, which looks soo amaizing

What Opel/Vauxhall models is sold as Dodge in England Evan? I think you might be wrong on this, because Opel/Vauxhall is GM. While Chrysler is on theire own after the divorce with Mercedes. Alltough it seems like they are gonna marry Fiat in the near futurebiggrin2

Over here the Opels/Vauxhalls are badged as Saturns part of GM. I don't think there is any in the Chrysler group.

Read somewhere a while ago that GM is shutting Saturn as a brand down....As a part of the financial crises thing. So unless they rebrand the cars to Chevy or something there is the end of Opel in the US for now:(
My Astra is sold as Saturn Astra in the US, but not with the 1,4 enginelol
I think they only sell the hatchback in the US or Astra GTC as it is called here.

Yah I think that is the case. I won't miss it lol We have the Saturn Astra 3 and 5 door. Along with the Vectra as the Aura, the GT as the Pontiac Solstice, and the Saturn Sky. It wouldn't hurt to do some condensing of the badge engineered cars.

Yea, but car engines are shared between different groups,

i.e The 500 and the New Ka are almost identical under the body

Has anyone heard if Fiat might start selling cars here in the U.S. through Chrysler or Dodge dealerships?

Oh. That color is towards the bottom on my list. It's just the 500s on the whole in US is the exciting part.

Do you think there will be a big demand for the 500 in the US? Is there a following like this side of the pond ?

5OO
9th April 2009, 00:45
Once they see me driving it there will be.lollol My guess the following depending on the price of it when it arrives, will be something between the Mini and the New Beetle. I think Americans are starting to understand that bigger isn't always better.

The Ford F150. The Lightning was supercharged version of the F150 (Do want :))

Sure the 500 will be a hit in the US. No one drives more retro cars than the Americans: Mini became a success, Chrysler PT Cruiser became a success, Chevrolet HHR did OK, And VW New Beatle became a success in the US alltough it flopped in Europe:icon_thumleft: And there is a trend in the US that the market moves towards smaller more fuel efficent cars, inspired by European and Asian brands:icon_thumleft:

The 500 will become a giant success I am sure, just Imagine a 500c or an Abarth cruisng along Sunset Boulevard or on Miami Beach....:icon_thumleft:

Chrysler has filled for chapter 11, however the deal with Fiat is still on. (Fiat S.P.A. is going for world domination lol)

"Court documention reveals which Fiats and Alfas are destined for U.S."
"Tom LaSorda, current ChryCo Veep, suggests that Fiat has agreed to assemble a vehicle using its C-EVO platform at one of Chrysler's underutilized U.S. plants. Further, Robert Manzo, executive director of Capstone Advisory Group, has specifically named the Fiat 500, Grande Punto and Panda (tellingly, Manzo called the Panda a Jeep) along with the Mito and Milano from Alfa Romeo as models coming to the aid of Chrysler."

Estimated arrival for the first Fiat 500 is 18months. :icon_thumleft:

What does exactly "chapter 11" means? Is it like a protection from bankruptcy or does it mean that Chrysler as we know it is history......... Good thing that Fiat is still innvolved in the process that is going on :icon_thumleft:
