Hello to You all! Hereīs some pics of my 1.2 lounge. Iīve had it for 8 months now and so far it has been working perfectly! The car is pretty much standard lounge, only esp added. And obviously chrome mirrors and tricolere badges...

Of to work now...

Hi VilleV!

Your car looks great!! And the winter wheels also... Do you drive dubbed or regular winter tires? I drive regular ones but that`s because I do a lot of highway driving. And the 500 is good on winter conditions anyway. It looks like we got the same snow levellol So I haven`t tested it on tough conditions yet:D Are you satisfied with the heater? I am not really.... Yesterday morning it was about -12 degrees, so I started the car about 40 minutes before I was going to leave my job. After 40 minutes idling with max heat and defroster on the windshileld still as not completly ice free:mad: And I had to scrape the rear end of the front side windows. On the inside it was becoming warm but not hot.... The reason I ask you is because you also drive the 1,2 engine in about the same conditions as here...

Godt nytt år!

Hey Wreckmaster!

I have studded/dubbed tyres. I thought about it quite a lot and evetually desided that I trusted studded tyres more. I have had friction tyres in some of my previous cars and they have worked just fine, but somehow I have more confidence when I have studded tyres. The downside is of course that they do make a lot more noise than friction tyres and rolling resistance is much greater leading to bigger consumption.

Do You have aircon? I think it helps to defrost the windows a lot quicker, but still I do agree on that the heater is not the most efficient! Usually car manufacturers install more powerful heaters to cars that they bring to our markets, but Iīm not sure Fiat has done this. Maybe it is because of the big hurry they had to bring 500 to shops up here so they didnīt have time or interest to do something about the heater. I think this is a common problem with secondhand cars imported here for example from Germany.
Iīve found it quite efficient to "pre-heat" my car before starting. I have an electric engine coolant heater with additional internal heater for the inside of the car and this really makes a great difference! I never have to scrape my windows and immediately after start up the engine is blowing warm air into the capin!

btw, Your english is flawless in my oppinion!:icon_thumleft:

Hello again VilleV.

Yes I have aircondition but haven`t rally tought of using it with the defroster while it is cold outside. I will try thatlol. I am glad that I have the seat heaters, it helps in cold conditions:) At least my rear end gets warmlol. When I drive to work and it is below zero outside I think that the 500 does not get as warm as other cars inside:mad: But when I drive through a tunnel where it is warmer than the outside temp I can feel that my heater starts blowing warmer air. Maybe the 500 should have an car bralol. In all other ways I am happy with the car. Compared to my old Stratus conv I save about 1500-2000 kr each month in fuel expences. Thats half the consumption of the Stratusbiggrin2biggrin2.

It's funny reading all these cold weather stories, at this time of the year I worry about parts of the car melting when I park it outside in the sun
