Just got back from the shop with my new 17" AEZ Tacana rims and Pirelli P Zero Nero 205/40 17" tyres. I haven't driven the car more than 200 meters so haven't tested the ride yet, but they look good, and the grip should be amazing :)

They fill the arches quite good, but it should be lowered 30 mm I think.
I don't think I will do it though. Spent enough money on the car now... 13500 NOK for the wheels..

Oh man, they really fit the car nicely! And great pics because you can see the whole car well! The impact on the cars appearance is so great that I might have to visit my tyre and whell shop sometime in the future... Btw, how´s the ride on those 17"?

Thanks Ville. The ride gets a bit harder, and they don't like potholes :) But alltogether I like it this way, I like feeling the stiffness of the car and I also like the incredible grip. It handles great around corners. :drive1:
The main problem is that the rear end gets a little bumpy, so a big bump combined with cornering won't be very comfortable I guess..
I even started using the city button now as it really help when manouvering at low speeds. :fruity_fight:

The first problem you mentioned gets a little bit better over time. I think so at least. Mine is about a year old and has 6000km on the clock, and its not so bumpy and tail happy when I go over a bump in a corner anymore. So thats a good thing!
And about the city button, I do it too sometimes...:p At least when I´m manouvering in tight car parks. Or even when its cold and Ive just started, because the throttle can be a little hard to manage and I think the city button calms it down and makes it easier to drive stedily on low speeds.

Not my style, but if they improve grip then it is a :icon_thumleft: in my book.

Isn't it VEEEERY bumpy? I have downgraded some weeks ago from 16" to 15" because I got tired. Now the car is faster, it drinks less fuel and it's much more comfortable... seems to have a new car.

I like the car better with the 17" wheels than the 15", so it probably depends what you prefer. It is stiff, hard and responsive. And also a little bumpy :) But the looks of it and the grip more than makes up for the bumpyness IMHO :)

Speaking about wheels ...
My 500 is going to need some new front tyres soon. Trouble is my entire existence is in cardboard boxes in my daughter's garage including my Owner's Handbook.
I know I have low profile tyres but don't know what size the tyres will be without going outside in the cold with a torch. In the back of my mind 18" kind of rings a bell but I can't believe that an Italian car would have it's wheels sized in inches! Does it?
So, can someone give me the possible 'width' 'profile' 'rim' and 'speed' they might be or do I have to go outside?
Without being able to give the width all the other options are greyed out.
PS The car is a 1.2 Lounge if that makes any difference.

If your car is on 17" the dimensions are 205/40 R17, but the cars were not originally delivered on 17s. The standard wheels are 15" 185/50 R15 or optional wheels were 16" 195/45 R16. Or did you buy your own?
Maybe you can se your style wheels on this page http://www.fiat-accessories.com/Fiat-500-Styling

Hi
Thanks for your reply. I was so cold I didn't want to go outside and walk around the corner to where the car's parked but I guess I'll have to!
I bought a car off the showroom floor. I couldn't wait for all my preferences to be put together but as it has low profile tyres I guess the wheels are 17"? Don't know where I got 18" from!
At least this exchange might remind me to go on-line and find some new tyres.
I remember every time I use the car but by the time I get inside and get the computer switched on I forget! Maybe I'll write myself a note!
I just saw your link and had a look. I don't recognise any of those wheels but they had a really strange references- like 6.5Jx16
