While waiting for the papers, I've bought 2 sets of Dunlop Racing Slicks 205/620-17, and I've found some rims for them:

http://photos04.allegroimg.pl/photos/400x300/615/28/99/615289902_1

On monday I'm ordering Bilstein B14 PSS coilover suspension, some H&R Triple C bolts for some better camber adjustment, wheel spacers, and Ferodo DS2500 pads.

I'll also try to make a remap for 170-180HP and something about 280Nm to the end of the next week.

24.05 I'm starting on Poznan racing circuit in Time Attack Poland League :D

Love the wheels :icon_thumright:

They're ok :). I've loved their price. These're Toora wheels produced in Poland, set of these wheels cost 1150pln which is about 260euro for set of new 17".

I've decided that I need to find some really cheap rims for trackday usage because I wouldn't like to hurt my 10-spokes :)

I've picked up my A500 yesterday, and done 800km already :).
This car is awesome, only need to make it a little bit faster, and reduce this little bodyroll.

Delivery day picture taken by my gf:

If everything will be done according to my plans remap should be done on monday. I'll attach some RR graph. It will be done by the same company which did 182HP from my 1.9TDI 130HP Audi A4 running without any problems. I'll let you know about the results :).

Today I've visited a place where my remap is going to be done for ecu map identification, everything is ok and the remap is scheduled for thursday. I'll leave my A500 at 8 AM and take it back after my work :).

On wednesday I've an appointment for steel braided brakes lines fitment with Motul RBF660 racing brake fluid change.

On friday I'll try how my racing wheels fit with 15mm wheel spacers and change brake pads for Ferodo DS2500, and on sunday I'm going to have a lot of fun on a track :)

I've received my A500 :). Guys who where doing this remap borrowed A500 SS from Fiat for some tests so we could make some comparision on road :).

I don't have current dyno plot (I'll ask them tomorrow if they could send me actuall plot) but it's about 170HP and 260Nm with stock engine :) (I've ordered BMC airfilter but it's 2 weeks waiting time). Funny thing is that maximum boost in my setup is 1.2bar and SS peeks with 1.3bar and less power/torque. I'm leaving the car for one more day next week for some corrections and setting up some bigger boost for some more power (why not to blow 1.3bar if SS does that? :).

I'll try to record some movie presenting the acceleration :)

Car is running really fast, it's much faster than A500 SS (we've done some racing ;)). I don't know exact price for remap but I'll ask tomorrow and let you know.

I've also changed brake lines for Goodridge stainless steel braided ones and brake fluid for Motul RBF660. Also change motor oil for Motul 300V Competition 5W40.

I know....but at least you have a good idea WHEN you'll get your SRT-8. We have NO IDEA when the Abarths will actually be here in the States.

Guess I could look at it this way to make me feel better about the waiting....I'm closer to the east coast than '500', so maybe I'll get MINE before he gets HIS! :p

Just couldn't let it go, could ya? Something wrong with buying an Italian car, made in Mexico and sold through an American dealership.

Then again, I drive a smart......a German engineered car, built in France with a Japanese engine and shipped to America.

I'm asking my boss about every day if he's heard any more about Fiat and the 500's coming. I want to be first in line at our dealership to put down my deposit on an Abarth. :icon_thumleft:

I think I read somewhere that the standard 500 will be the first one to arrive over therelol It is not a bad car either, so if the Abarth doesen`t come before late 2011 just buy a 1,4sport:icon_thumleft: And the "standard" 500 is much more retro IMO:) And retro is what the 500 is all about:icon_thumright:

Now what I heard was that the Abarth would be the first, so who knows what will arrive on our doorsteps first. I'm holding out for an Abarth either way......and if that means I have to keep my smart for another year or so, then so be it! :icon_thumright:

I really like the 'retro' of some of the cars, like the '500', the Mini, the Dodge Challenger, Ford Mustang and the Chevy Camaro. BUT what I REALLY like about the 'retro' is the fact that I get all of todays upgrades and technology in a car that looks like something 30-40 years ago. biggrin2

Gotta love 4whl disc brakes with ABS, Traction Control and of course EFI. Sure beats drum brakes and carbs!!!! :p

I have read that the U.S. 500 Abarth should debut in late 2011. But, everything is speculation right now. I just hope they build enough to meet the demand. I don't have any idea how many people would want the Abarth version or even if people in the U.S. know what an Abarth is.

Abarth is due early 2012 in the US according to plan. We apparently get the 170hp engine. I'm giong to inqire if the SS can be works prepared instead of using a kit to avoid additional labor charges. Pirelli P-Zero nero a/s tires wear too fast and get noisy, so I'll change to Yokohama Avid ENvigor (560-A-A) as on abarth monza. I'm going to ask to have the new 7-speed DCT fitted closer to launch. Production should begin in fourth quarter 2011.

How do you know that there will even be an SS version for the U.S.? We may get one version of the Abarth with the Mito-derived 170 hp engine. And how do you know the Abarth will be available with the 7-speed DCT transmission?

abarthmaven
19th April 2011, 17:35
The SS kit is normally a dealer installed option, since it mainly consists of lowering springs, uprated brakes, and larger tires and wheels. Because we will get the 170hp engine in the abarth, I learned that the SS springs are too stiff and summer tires are included which I don't need. Therefore I am going a different route. I will have the Koni shock/strut kit installed, Magneti Marelli SS-500X dual range catback exhaust replacing stock, and the 7-speed DCT gearbox slated for 2012 production at the Kokomo, IN works from Fiat/ZF (autoblog/fiat500usa blog). It is slated to arrive along with the abarth but will fit all models. The stock tires will be changed to Yokohama Avid ENvigor as on the abarth 500 monza. :icon_thumright:
