Ok, at first I thought that is just me, but my brother told me that he have the same problem on his Abarth!
It only needs a very small kerb on the road and the front suspension it ends with a huge bang like an explosion!!!
Any one else out there with the same problem?
I am out for a new aftermarket front suspension for sure!

I will contact the local dealer on Monday, this thing is getting worse and I had only 1.000km on the clock, my brother's Abarth had 3.000km or somethng.......
To be honest, I dont enjoy to drive it like this, each time it happens, it feels like the car will broke in half, I can see the dash moving under a loud ''glong'' noise and that is no good, no good at all!
Fiat must do somethng about it asap........
I dont wont to give 1000 euros or something for a new aftermarket coilovers on a brand new pocket car that cost over 20.000 euros....
The front suspension is crap

Hi,
I can't believe that it is the springs, it sounds more to me that there wasn't something correctly tightened if it showed up the first time after 1000 km already.
Maybe the engine mounts are loose or so.
The roads in Luxembourg have been the best ones in Europe just before the second world war.:D
But that's long time ago...
I'm interested to hear what was wrong as I'm a maniac for all kind of noises.
I simply would drive me crazy...

cin333 is right, is just works this way! :(
It is not showed up for the first time after 1000 km, it was happen a few times from almost the day one, I just dont like the way it works, the springs are fine IMO, the very small travel is the problem and the Shock Absorbers looks like they are Bilstein, am sure that with just an other brand of Shock Absorbers it will be fine!
I know from friends that use the PSS9 Bilstein coilovers on Porsches and other cars and they have the same problem!
I will try to find what other brands make Shock Absorbers for the Abarth, and if they are about 200 - 300euros I will give them a try!

it would be nice to find something more progressive without the need to lower the car... at least the front for me it is already to low..

Have you been at the dealer and complained on the noise? What did they say?

I am in contact with some tunner in Italy, and he will give me some infos about new suspensions, with the same hight.. no lowering...
and a fantastic cat , a 200 cells replica of the original ,so no guarantee problem.
with a 10 hp gain.

Hi,
Gaining 10 HP just with less backpressure on the converter and without recalibration of the EMS is very optimistic. lol

Back on topic and the problem is the OE Abarth springs, after the esseesse kit installation finally the car suspension react correctly!
So, if you are not for the esseesse kit, go at least for the OE esseesse springs! :icon_thumright:
