Got a letter from the new import company today with a recall notice to all 500`s with rear drum brakes. It says that I have to take contact with a Fiat garage as soon as possible, because of trouble. But I doesent say what the problem is! Just that it takes an hour to fix. So I will have to call them tomorrow and see. Will probably try to do the recall togeter with an small service before the big Italy trip. 13000km`s today:(

Probably uneaven(?) rear brakes. I have noticed a few times that when I brake very hard the rear end comes out to one side, so it is probably braking more on one side than the other. I have also noticed that the ABS sometimes set in way to early, long time before wheels gets locked:p

The recall is to do with the bolts that hold the brake back plates to the rear
hubs they have to be replaced ,must be a defective batch out there

It is only 1,4 sport which have rear discs ( I think ). At least all 1,2 pop`s have drums. Cyberdogs car is a 1,2 sport and does obveously also have drums.

Called the garage yesterday and they had not even hears about this recall:p
And they are owned by the import companylol Well at least I got an appointment for the 3rd of june and I also booked an oilchange since we are getting closer to the Erba trip. Only drawback is that I have to go to the next town, since the dealer in my town ain`t got no garage anymore:(

I asked the dealer, and my number isnt affected, it must be a faulty batch of brakes that Fiat used.

Yes there are. Mine was done a while back (as I saw another web posting about it & checked if it needed it) but I have also received the official recall letter since then (a few weeks ago now).

Also had the B&M update at the same time.

It is only for certain chassis number ranges....

It was mention in a post on the Fiat Forums & when I checked with my dealer they confirmed mine was included. That was som time ago, but the actual letter was received about 3 weeks ago...
