Last year I turned them off during the summer as it was already light when I went to work and was still light on the way home. I haven't bothered to turn them off this year yet!

Here we are not alloved to use only the drl`s so we have to have all the lights on so the rear lights is lit also. ( would be legal with the drl`s if the rear lights were on at the same time)

Reports have been carried out and it is proven that with DRL on you are less likely to be involved in an accident... that said... I would love for the back lights to be lit also

Mine have always been on , but I might switch them off at this time of year .
Anyway , I have had a few drivers flash me thinking that I had left my lights on by mistake

Mine are always on, but most round here aren't.

Was surprised when I realised they are also the flash & high beam as well as changing their brightness when the headlights are on....

Mine came with them set on, but then I drive almost every car with daylights/sidelights on all the time anyway. Weird habit :)

It is proven that using headlights or DRL`s in daytime reduces the risks of accident as white light is the most visible color of lights ( more visible than yellow or blue). Even in the brightest sunshine you will spot an car with it`s lights on earlier than a car with the lights off:icon_thumleft:

Mine came with the lights set on. When the seller was explaining me the basic functions of the 500, he turn them off because here in Spain no one drives with them switched on yet, and he told me that when he started driving with the lights on, a lot of people advised him saying that the lights were on, so decided to shitch them off.

I'm always driving with them on, when I started to go to work for the first days, there were some mates in the parking telling me that my car was with the lights on or the fog lights were on. I had to explain about it, and now anybody says anything about the lights.

I turned mine off because I could. I thought I'd better get to grips with that awful menu thing and the buttons.

Also someone said you use more fuel with the lights on as you do with the air con. Are they right?

I belive the aircondition takes a lot more power from the engine than the generator does, and if it takes some power it`s got to be so little that I dont even think you can messure the difference in fuel consumption. For me it is not an alternative anyway, because it is illegal to drive without head and rear lights in Norwaylol

I've been doing a lot more motorway driving recently so I turned mine on again - and I use the sidelights too.

Used to have a car that people seemed to 'just miss' I made a point of always switching lights on to be more visible... Love the fact that my new car automatically does it!!!

Volks, I am thinking of changing the Daylight's bulb to LED bulb, in order to save some watts from the battery. I do turn on the radio without enging is running by and so I am afraid the battery will be drinken all voltage out that below 12V. LED consumes much less on voltage compares to ordinary bulb.lol

Referring to the manual, it states W21/5W, it is a tiny little bulb. (please correct me if I am wrong):D
