How often do you fill oil?

I´ve had my car for 13,5 months and 7000km. Ive done one oil change but Ive never had to add any oil between changes.

X2! Only mine is 8 months old and 14000 km`s when I had it on service:p Was still on top of dipstick:)

Hi,

Till now 7600 Km on the Abarth and no oil consumption at all.
I check every week and I even have a spare liter ready but there is no need for it.

After the first service back in the spring my car has started to use some oil. Now half a year and 4000km later the oil on the dipstick had dropped to half. I have been keeping an eye on it and this has happened gradually over the last six months. I guess this is not too bad, since the oil capasity on 500 isnt too big. Has anybody got an idea how much oil this actually is (if the ammount of oil has dropped from the top to middle of the dipstick)? And what might be the cause of it starting to use oil after first service? Different type of oil maybe?

Hey VilleV, if I recall correctly the capacity is around 2.85l. If you remember when my Bambina went in to the garage and they changed my oil I had exactly the same problem. Since then I have carried out my own service, she has hardly used a drop! My view was that they had put in the wrong oil as when I asked they said they didn't have the oil specified (Selenia I think).

So if the total amount of oil is 2.85 litres, the amount from top of the dipstick to the bottom should be what, 1 litre? If so, my engine had used appr. 5dl of oil in 4000km. That´s a fair amount, but considering its a Fiat engine, not worrying. My´03 Seat Ibiza used a lot more!:rolleyes:

Hi,

16800 Km and no oil consumption so far.
It had an oil change at 10700 Km when the SS kit was installed.

It seems that there are very big variances in their production. :mad:

In Bravo every service 1. year/ 30 000 km, 2. year/ 60 000 km etc...
Also change the oil between these, between the year ( 6.months).
