:mad:Just heard about this. They are the only dealer in Finland selling Fiat, Lancia, Alfa Romeo and Kia. At this point they are saying, that this wont effect the sales or cervicing of the car manufacturers they represent, but I have to say IŽm a bit worried about my warranty! What if something goes wrong with my car, will they still fix it or what?

Do you Wreckmaster have experience on this? Am I right remembering that your local dealer went belly-up too?

But Fiat are doing so well??? Have you tried the customer service number to see what they say about warranty? Tel: 00800 3428 0000

I havent tried calling yet. So far it seems, that bankruptsy is only affecting "the mother company" Delta motors. At this point its not affecting Delta-auto oy, which is responsible for selling the cars and also cervicing them. But the warranty is issued by the importer, which in Finlands case is the mother company Delta motors. Its going to be complicated, but Im pretty sure they cant deny warranties on cars they have sold if they continue their operation in any form. But thanks for the number, Ill have to call if this doesnt clear out...

Fiat are doing so well is one thing, doing so well in Finland is another! ;)

Thats true. Fiat still has a lousy reputation here qualitywise. They also sell mostly small cars which means smaller profits per sold car. Alfa is really small brand here and sold Lancias can be counted with fingers in one hand. Kia though sells extremely well, but I quess these days it just isnt enough.:(

Hopefully it will not effect the warranty :-) I think the warranty is between you and Fiat, not you and the dealer.

The only way this may affect you is if you have a national warranty that goes beyond the international Fiat warranty. Like here in Norway I`ve got a 5 year warranty( from old import company), while the warranty from Fiat is 2 years. That means I would have lost the last three years of warranty if this should have happend here. But there is also buyers consumers rights that goes above all warrantys( in Norway consumers rights says you can complain in 5 years).

How about 'batting the ball' back into Fiat's court and asking them what action they are going to take to ensure their loyal customers do not lose out? Don't forget... it will also affect their future sales !!

Fiat here equals Delta motors, the import company, otherwise they dont have representation here. I think IŽll have to see and wait whats going to happen. IŽll be contacting my local Delta-auto dealer sometime soon to get some information about this warranty issue. And if needed IŽll have to contact the Finnish consumer ombudsman(?).

Well, well, all ended well. :)

Autokeskus ( Autocenter ) got the imports of Fiats from the Fiat factory,
Italy. They wanted Autokeskus to have it. From 1.12 everything is ready
in the new company to start service and sell the new/ used Fiats.

After that comes Alfa and Lancia to the same firm. Autokeskus sells also
Chrysler, Dodge, Mini and BMW, so a big Firm and hopefully the prices are
lower than in Delta.

Overall a good move and also waiting for the Abarth 500 to arrive officially
to Finland. All the warranties continues as promised, if problems, Autokeskus
gives a 3-year/ 100 000 km warranty.

As I understood it, the additional +2 years that were given by Delta wont continue in Autokeskus. It is a warranty given by Delta and will only continue if you still service your car in Delta(?).

If servising costs are considerably cheaper in Autokeskus, IŽll propably take my business there and lose the +2 years of Delta warranty, which covered only engine and drivetrain.

IŽm quite excited about this chance! IŽve never been a huge fan of Delta and their service and prices (wonder why...)! I hope good things will come with Autokeskus!

Different answers by them, but time will tell how it will go then. I understood
via a phone call that Deltas warranties continues in Autokeskus. Can be that
the 3 + 2 is different than the whole 5- years warranty. WeŽll see ;)

I never been a huge fan of Delta, so the new one is allways good news !!!!!!!
