Thanks for all the welcomes:icon_thumright:
... and thanks for the compliments on my user name. It just kind of came to me I guess.

It is cool to be a part of a community that is so nice.

I truly cannot wait until these cars make it to the states. I just saw the 500 Abarth Top Gear episode. What an amazing little car. I love it when Jeremy says "I'm really a Lamborgini... I am. I promise!" Very funny.

What do you guys think... will the cost/benefit ratio be worth the price of the SS package? Or is the Abarth plenty good on it's own??

Does anyone have current pricing differences for Europe?

Thanks again everyone.

Yes the Abarth is a minime Ferrari or Lamborghini (what ever you like best)! ;)
If you get a standard Abarth with out the extra 17'' wheels, then yes, it worth the price of the SS package!
If you already have the extra wheels, like the most of us have, the Abarth is very good on it's own.
The kit cost from 2.000 to 2.500 euros here in europe and 500euros the labour, total 2.500 to 3.000 euros.
All SS Abarths are dealers made, not from the factory, and you have one year to decide if you really need it or not!

Practice some Italian on the Abarth 500 configurator (they recently updated it). It will let you get to know the colors/ wheel/ options available. My guess is it will be priced below the MINI S in the states. It starts at 13.5 pounds, so that is about $22k.

Thanks for all of the info. I wonder if they will consider lowering the price at all for the states. Probably not. One can dream though.

$22,000 (USD) is honestly not that bad for what you get.

Am sure that in the US the price will be $20K at the max!
Here the Abarth cost almost half the price of a Mini S with a good option package, (things that the Abarth have as standard)!
Just my 2 euros biggrin2

Lefteri,
Why do we have one year to decide about the SS kit?

One year or 20.000km, what ever come first, if you want to get the 2 years warranty, Abarth rules! ;)

Is the Abarth available through dealer only? This may be why I can't build/price one on-line.

Would the Abarth package pricing be added on top of the pricing and options for, say, a 1.4 Sport?

Cause, that would mean that the dealer just sorta slaps a turbo on...

I would hope that there are other internal differences in the motor.

Any insite on these things would be awesome!

The ABARTH is a brand name on its own, http://www.abarth.it it is not a Fiat car on papers, is like the RUF for Porsche, they use a porsche car and make it better in any way! and you will not find any Fiat badge on the ABARTH 500, here in Greece we have Abarth dealership and you can not buy an Abarth from a Fiat dealer as you can not buy a Maserati from the Lancia dealer
The FIAT Group car brands are Ferrari Maserati Alfa Romeo Lancia Abarth and FIAT (and the new US boys) along with (maybe) the OPEL
