Like the topic says, is anyone else in here diving?
I`ve had my advanced open water certificate for two years, but because of the insane prices of equipment I have not had the oppertunity to dive very much... I have rented equipment from time to time, and been on a few diving trips when I have been in Greece. So last monday I went on a diving trip in Portofino, Italy and had two great dives that day. Later that day I was passing a divestore in Rapallo just by accident and ended up buying a drysuit. It was so much more cheap there than in Norway so I did not have much of a choice I feltlol My wife is also diving, she took her open water certificate a month ago... Today I went to town and bought the rest of the equipment I needed to make it complete. Expensive but fun. Going diving tomorrow to try my new gear:icon_thumleft: Hopefully I will dive much more in the near future now that I`ve got the full gear:cool:

I have been around divers for the last 20 years, my ex loved diving. My eldest son followed too. He has dived Sri Lanka, Kenya, Tunisia and loads more. I went diving two years ago in Egypt... it was absolutely fantastic, an underwater garden, such fantastic colours. I was lucky enough to see a turtle and, of course, met Nemolol
You enjoy your diving trip and be careful

You should really try it sometime. Atleast when you are in Greece. The visibility there is great, alltough they have managed to fish that part of the medeterranen sea pretty dead. And there you only have to wear a wetsuit, which makes the diving even more great. The two dives I had in Italy was great, it was in a marine reservation and the fish life was amazing. I must have seen atleast a milion fish. Octopussys, murenas, snappers and all kind of small fishes i groups of tousands each time. Was great. I am not sure how great the baltic sea is tough, I take it there is pretty poor visiblity there. Just like the Oslofjord I live bylol

Egypt is supposed to be one of the best diving sites in the world:cool: I have never been there, but my brother has been there several times. They go there just to dive. Two dives each day in a week or two, except for the day before they go home:) What kind of sertificate do you have Cadbury?

When I first started diving no qualifications were needed and I stopped cos of claustraphobia. After my recent divorce, I went to Egypt with a diver who knows a divemaster (he actually contributed to a Sinai Divers book). I was 'chaperoned' on my half hour dive, only 30' so only shallow. If you ever make it to Sharm, I will give to Mario's email addy.

Go sooner rather than later... prices are rising fast. Two years ago it was only £450, this year £750.

I would love to go diving, but I have issues with my ears popping when the pressure around me changes, even on trains! So I think I would have to resort to snorkeling sadly.
