Hi all
The speakers in my car have blown, (not sure how :confused:biggrin2) anyway, I have some new ones to replace them along with sub, amp etc, etc, etc, since changing my computer to an Apple imac I can't load my Fiat disc on (disc I bought from ebay), does anyone know how easy it is to get to the speakers???? (Before I start dismantling in my own sweet way).
Thank you.

Will have a look tomorrow on my 500:) I guess if you get the door sides off in one piece, it will be a walk in the park... Just be careful so you dont brake anything:icon_thumright:

Oh yes, I'll definitely be taking some pics. Before, during and after I've broken it lol
I have my sound system from my old car but thanks anyway Kertallica. Paul used to work for Clarion and got some good stuff with great discount. Can't go crazy on sub size though as it needs to be removable to a degree.

Are you going to change the original CD/MP3 player also? Or just the broken speakers?
Have forgotten all about checking how they are mounted:(

No, I'll leave the mp3/cd player, it will difficult to get something to fit/match the cream interior. I have got a dvd/tv/nav touch screen, flip out stereo, but it won't fit and would look silly. Shame because it is like new.

Ahh that's cool then. All my gear is Vibe, and I don't think it would be removable enough for you, as the sub is 12" :icon_thumright: lol

OK, quick update. The speaker wasn't blown but the foam roll around the cone had come unstuck from the speaker frame, it has had a repair carried out for now. (Speakers will be changed when the weather improves).
For info - The front speakers are 16cm and riveted in to the door. Hence to change them would mean to drill them  The door cards are fairly easy to remove with 2 allen bolts behind the trim of the door handle and 1 bolt behind the chrome door handle (behind the round chrome cap). Then just gently prise off from the bottom, there are fir tree clips all around. The top part of the door card is hooked over the inner skin of the door. (This was the driver's door so had to unplug the mirror switch as well).

It's pretty easy, I popped some Alpine woofer/tweeters in mine with a crossover.
Just remove a screw from the door pull area, then it's a good brave tug at the bottom of the door panel & it simply pops of.:icon_thumright:
