So far the reaction has been positive, and I've had a couple of very tall students who've managed to fit in allright, there's plenty of headroom and legroom but you will allways get people who don't like change!

Your driving students are very lucky! I wish I had my lessons in these little cars. I had a 205

Welcome to the 500 family!

:icon_thumleft: Lucky bastards! lol

I learned on a 1988 Camry. It was the same age as me when I learned how to drive.

That looks great! seems to be well spec'd too. Your tall students ought to manage, Clarkson managed to get in that Abarth a few months back ;)

I Learned to drive in a 1973 Ford Cortina Mk 3 (fathers car), but the driving school car was a 1978 Mini Clubman. It was pretty difficult transferring from one to another lol

The company were supposed to be giving me a 1.4 Sport but that model has a hill holding device which can't be used on driving tests, a pity really, I was looking forward to driving that, still this has quite a few of the sports features and the wheels are nice, still a great car though!:icon_thumleft:

Just a quick question everyone, do any of you think that white is the new in colour? There seems to be a lot of white cars around these days. I love my car in white!:)

VilleV

White has been the new in colour fo last three or so years! Real colours are coming back now...

Nice car! I've seen lots of these around now, and I think they're so much better looking than the Corsas

Out of interest, what options did BSM give you when ordering your new car? I mostly see the BSM 500s in black/white 1.2 sport models, but I have seen a few lounges too.

This is a 1.2 with a sports look but it is not a true sports because there is no sports button on the dash, I'm not sure but I think the sports model can only be a 1.4. We don't have a choice on the colour but long serving instructors get the higher spec. If you click on the YouTube link to my channel you will be able to see the full spec, thanks:icon_thumleft:

They look OK in white with the orange hoop design on the back. There are a couple in Coventry that are metallic grey, with the same design, they dont look right lol

I cant believe people are learning to driven in these now, I always thought a training car was reallty cheap to maintain and fairly dull and generic , I passed two years ago, and I had to put up with this :

The reason that BSM chose this car is that it stands out from the rest of the driving schools, they wanted to update their image:)

Saw two BSM 500's today, or maybe it was the same one twice, as they were both metallic silver. What's BSM's policy on waving or flashing? Presumably your students are discouraged from responding to a cheery wave from another happy 500 driver? :) Especially on test day lol

Any sign that's not in the Highway Code is a big no no! But I do encourage my students to acknowledge other drivers with a nod of the head and a wave if they have been let out at a junction or let through a gap in a meeting situation, you have to be friendly and courteous when you drive, there's far too much selfish driving on the road today don't you think?

Agreed! Everyone assumes it's younger drivers in their boy racer Peugot's or whatever, but I find the least courteous drivers are usually behind the wheel of something like the cars below.
I mentioned this to a German friend a few years ago, and he said it was the same in Germany lol

Just realised this thread is supposed to be for video's only. Sorry moderators. :OFFTOPIC:
