We got a prominent visitor in Norway today: The president of the USA:bowdown:, Barack Obama recived the Nobel Peace prize in Oslo:icon_thumleft:
It is not everyday we have a sitting american president on visit for 26hours:)
I guess people is dicussing out there in the world if it was right or wrong to give the prize to the leader of 2 ongoing wars, but it is still a very proud day to be norwegian:) Tomorrow there will be a big Peace prize concert in Oslo lead by Will Smith:cool: Obama hiself will have left the country by then, but I still think it will be a great tribute to a in my opinion a well deserving peace prize winner:icon_thumleft:

Only problem was that half the roads in Oslo was closed today, with military helicopters in the air everwhere and police checkpoints in downtown Oslo!
They even closed the entire highway into Oslo from the north, a distance of 40km`s from the airport to downtown. This was in the morning rushourslol Just because the president was going to drive on the road:cool:

Thanks for sharing that story with us. We here in the US find it interesting, or at least I do, how our President is perceived in the EU and around the world.

It's nice to see that maybe our current President is more favorable to you than the past one...... :)

President Obama will restore the worlds good relations to the US, which was pretty much destroyed by the last president! I think and hope that Obama also will win in the matter of the health reform! I belive life for many americans will be better with the reform! I also think that he will be able to quit the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan in a good way in a not too distant future :) America made a good choice last year :)

I agree with you and hope that he can achieve all of those goals. It's just that there is a very UGLY side to politics in the US recently.

I'm not sure what ever happened to "Truth in Advertising" but it seems during our last election, politicians got on TV and made all sorts of nasty claims against the opposition. One reason we voted for Obama. He didn't stoop to the name-calling, just focused on the issues.

But today, it's becoming really bad. I suppose it's going to take some sort of national catastrophe to bring Americans together. "911" did that, but how soon we forget. Here it is less than 10 years later and looking around, some of our bitterest enemies are other Americans. Sad. :(

Thank YOU for having confidence in our President. :)

The US President is considered to be the leader of the free world, that is why it is soo very important that the US has got a good one which also has the ability too see outside of just national US intrests! And I belive president Obama does that:) A great leader IMO:icon_thumleft:
