What kind of gas mileage will a 500 Abarth get?

 I'm guessing BETTER than an SRT-8 but WORSE than a smart car. Just guessing though........;) lol

Mine is 10 to 11 litter for 100 km - 27.4 + MPG with the sport mode on all the time but with out the esseesse kit that I have but I have not find the time to put it on yet, very economical... for a truck .... :D
Here is the photos I just took with L-KM and MPG for you, very easy to change it on this car!

Hi,
I don't know how Lefteris does this, probably all the time pedal to the metal or so.biggrin2
I have done now 18800Km with my Abarth.
Normal daily driving I made it with about 6.8 liters for 100 km in normal mode which was not that exciting.
Sport mode was about 7.3 liters on 100 km with some (careful) fast highway driving going to work in the morning (130 to 150 km/h).
I have since about 8000 km the SS kit on it (Lefteris be reminded that they only fit it in the first 12 months).
Now with the kit I have in normal mode about the power of the sports mode before the transformation and there is for my daily driving no real need to push the sports button except if there is something to chase or someone sticking on the rear bumper..biggrin2
Driving in sports mode with the SS kit will take an average of 8.1 for fast and 8.5 for quite aggressive driving.
Of course there might be different (higher) consumptions possible if you use it on a track but in that case you care less for the consumption than for the tire wear.
Reading the official numbers for the consumption there is apparently no difference which is correct if you drive the official emission cycle test barefoot.:icon_thumleft:
The consumption is the same as the engine and the calibration tables for the low load and low RPM area which is used during those standardized consumption cycles stay the same in both versions Abarth and SS but once you are out of that window you will see a dramatic increase.
Nobody manages to reproduce the official consumption numbers in real world and of course if there is a higher power output and a more aggressive engine behavior available after you invested additional 3000€ you will for sure use it otherwise a 1.2 l 500 would do the deal.

Sorry to dig this back up, but Lefty's post gave us the US MPG equivalent... (27.4 mpg)
Minime... can you (or someone) give us the US MPG equivalent for your 6.8 liters for 100 km in normal mode?
Would be much appreciated:icon_thumright:

Me too man; I need to slow down.

lol
I had that reality check when I bought my SRT-4...
120 mph comes so effortlessly, 90 feels slow in that car.
Three speeding tickets later, I go 70 all the time:mad:
It's safer, cheaper and easier on my car.
Gotta keep the spped on the track or sanctioned race courses:icon_thumright:

27.4 for non-SS!
This means that for the SS, Mileage will be less than the Mini Cooper S.
Is this right?

Keep in mind, Lefty said that his long skinny pedal (the "go" pedal on the right) is always on the floor.lol
It makes a HUGE difference in a forced induction car.
My SRT-4 (2.4 liter turbocharged 16 valve DOHC) can get close to 30 MPG on the freeway if I don't boost at all.
However, if I were to have my foot on the floor all the time, the computer would put the fuel curves on "closed loop" and my air/fuel ratios would be in the low to mid 10s all the time. We would be looking at 15-17 MPG at best... probably less than that!
So, 27.4 MPG is pretty awesome worst case scenario (real world) gas mileage!
